The People’s Action Party (PAP) – From Singapore’s Story of Progress to Liberia’s Next Chapter
The People’s Action Party (PAP) was founded on 21 November 1954 in Singapore by a group of visionary leaders, including Lee Kuan Yew and Dr. Toh Chin Chye. Their mission was clear: to free their people from colonial rule, achieve self-determination, and build a fair and just society.
From that moment, the PAP became not just a political movement, but the driving force behind Singapore’s transformation — from a small struggling port city to one of the world’s most admired nations. Today, the PAP’s story is more than history; it is an example of what disciplined leadership, strong values, and people-centered governance can achieve.
And now, that vision is being extended to Liberia, with the PAP preparing to establish a full-fledged chapter dedicated to promoting unity, progress, and service to the Liberian people.

PAP’s Mission for Liberia
As the PAP expands to establish a chapter in Liberia, its mission remains consistent:
To build a fair and just society, where opportunities are shared widely, progress is people-centered, and unity is placed above division.
Just as PAP helped transform Singapore into a beacon of peace, progress, and prosperity, its Liberia chapter seeks to adapt these same values — honesty, unity, resilience, and people-first leadership — to Liberia’s unique journey of growth.
The People’s Action Party is more than a political organization — it is a movement of values, service, and vision. From Singapore to Liberia, PAP believes that together, people can build a better future.
