Breaking News🚨
President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has ordered an immediate stay on the implementation of the newly released license fees by the Liberia National Tourism Authority (LNTA), pending further consultations with stakeholders.

The President’s directive follows the LNTA’s recent announcement of a revised fee structure that would require musicians, actors, and dancers to pay an annual license fee of US$25, while content creators were set to be charged US$50. These fees were introduced as part of the authority's effort to formalize and regulate Liberia's creative industry under the LNTA Act of 2025.

The suspension aims to allow for a broader dialogue to ensure the new regulations are fair and do not place an undue burden on the nation's creative sector.

Update❗
According to team from OK FM, The Guinean soldiers remain on Liberian soil despite ongoing negotiations.
The team recently visited the disputed Sorlumba border between Liberia and Guinea. Their findings indicate that Guinean soldiers are stationed on the Liberian side of the border.

Tensions appear to have eased compared to a few weeks ago, as Liberian Immigration Service officers were observed to be less confrontational.

However, the border remains closed, and civilians—including the investigative team—from the Liberian side are still being prevented from accessing areas occupied by Guinean soldiers. Security sources say this situation may change in the coming weeks.

During the visit, the team documented a mountain located on the Liberian side of the border. According to Liberian security sources, intelligence suggests Guinean authorities believe the mountain may contain uranium or other rare earth minerals, which could be a factor in the alleged encroachment. However, this claim has not been confirmed by Liberian authorities, and it could not be independently verified.
