📘🔥 The Big Fire at the House on the Hill
Episode 14: “The Vanishing Witness” 🕵🏾♂️🚫
The leaked audio had turned Monrovia upside down. Protesters camped outside the Capitol. Law students debated constitutional rights live on Spoon FM. Police were scrambling.
But by midday, the story took a chilling twist.
🔎 The name “Thomas” — the aide to former Speaker Koffa — had been mentioned in the audio clip aired by Jallah Boy. He was the alleged “go-between” who delivered instructions “from the Chief.”
Yet, by 12:30 PM, no one could find him.
📱 His phone rang endlessly. His home in Duazon? Empty. His neighbors said he hadn’t returned since the previous night.
The police told reporters:
“We have no official record of detaining any individual named Thomas connected to the case.”
But a low-level officer whispered to a journalist,
“They took someone last night… off the books. I saw it. Blindfolded.”
By 5:00 PM, the Liberia Bar Association issued a stern statement:
“If this young man is in police custody, he must be produced immediately. If he’s not, then the Boakai administration must explain why whistleblowers are disappearing.”
🔥 Meanwhile, inside the walls of the Capitol, the new Acting Speaker, Rep. Richard Koon, called for an emergency session behind closed doors. No phones. No aides. Just lawmakers.
But outside, the people were restless.
“Bring out Thomas!”
“Justice for the Fire!”
“No more secrets!”
👀 In a hidden corner of the city, Korto met with a foreign reporter.
“They’re scared,” she said. “This was never just about a building. It was about power... and what burns when you try to expose it.”
The Capitol fire was no longer just smoke and ashes.
It was a war for the truth.
📘 Coming Tomorrow: Episode 15 – “The Paper Trail” 🗂️🧨
A confidential document surfaces. It links project funds, the Speaker's Office, and missing audit reports. What was the real motive behind the fire?
