🚨 Press Freedom Under Attack in Nimba?

SANNIQUELLIE – Instead of answering a simple question — “Where is Vice President Koung?” — Liberia’s Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah reportedly turned on a journalist.

According to FrontPage Africa, Piah allegedly assaulted reporter D. Franklin Doloquee, seized his phone, and personally deleted photos and videos during a government town hall at Superintendent Kou Meapeah Gono’s compound.

👉 Think about it: The official tasked with promoting transparency and information is now accused of destroying information.

FrontPage Africa’s editor has condemned the act as “an abuse of power and a violation of press freedom.”

Meanwhile, the big question remains unanswered: Why was VP Koung absent from an event he was advertised to headline?

🎙️ In a democracy, journalists ask the hard questions on behalf of the people. Silencing them doesn’t erase the truth — it only exposes it louder.

Fire Investigation Questions Raised in Capitol Building Case..🤔

According to a recent report from the Rescue Fire Alliance, the Government of Liberia charged individuals in connection with the fire at the Capitol Building before a proper investigation was conducted.

The Rescue Fire Alliance alleges that they were contacted by the government to investigate the cause of the fire — however, by the time they were brought in, arrests had already been made, and no official fire scene investigation had taken place.

This raises serious concerns about due process and the integrity of the investigation. How were suspects identified and charged without forensic evidence from the scene?

As the public awaits answers, questions continue to mount.

Ebola scare in Ganta, Nimba County🚨”

“20+ people quarantined”

“Tests NEGATIVE ✅”

“The real challenge?
Communication + trust”

🔎 Informed Liberian Today Breaking It Down: The Ganta Ebola Scare.

Health panic shook Ganta after the sudden death of a Turkish national was flagged as a possible Ebola case. Over 20 people were quarantined, soldiers were deployed, and the community was on edge.

✅ The Good News: Tests by Liberia’s National Reference Lab came back negative for both Ebola and Marburg. That means no outbreak.

⚠️ But Here’s Why People Are Still Worried:

Quarantine confusion: Authorities haven’t clarified when or if the 20+ people in Ganta will be released. This silence fuels anxiety.

History matters: Liberia lost over 4,800 people during the 2014–2016 Ebola outbreak. The memory still haunts us, so even a suspected case triggers fear.

Trust gap: Communities want clear, fast updates from NPHIL and the Ministry of Health — delays create rumors and panic.

📚 Lesson for All of Us:
Outbreak response isn’t just about testing blood samples — it’s also about communication, coordination, and trust. Liberia has the experience, but this case shows the system still struggles with public reassurance.

👉 Stay calm, follow health protocols, and rely on official updates from NPHIL.

JNB gone again ✈️ — off to America to “bring development,” but back home, VP Koung already got his foot on Liberia’s business neck.

First stop? Bility. 👞💥

With the new petroleum pricing structure, Rep. Musa Bility says the government is deliberately choking Liberian-owned oil terminals just to fatten LPRC’s pockets. Storage fees slashed, new “technical fees” created, and jobs now hanging by a thread.

👉 Critics say this isn’t reform — it’s a power grab that could kill Liberian entrepreneurship in the petroleum sector. But Koung’s allies insist it’s all about revenue, accountability, and cheaper rice and gas.

So, Liberians: is this real reform or a calculated squeeze play?

🔥 Capitol Building Fire Drama Continues 🔥

Judge Roosevelt Willie was all set to rule in the Capitol Building arson case today — but surprise, surprise — no ruling came down. Instead, the case drags on, just like everything else in Liberia when it comes to justice.

Meanwhile, six defense lawyers managed to make headlines of their own. The Judge held them in contempt of court — four got slapped with a $100 fine each, and two got a “discount” fine of $50 each.

So here we are: ruling postponed, lawyers fined, justice delayed. Sounds like business as usual.

Delay tactics: brought to you by the Liberian system, since forever.
