Edwin Tisdell Recommend an increase in Fire Service budget says it’s one of the causes to fire disaster.

He’s said there’s need the government review the budget and equip LNFS in carrying on their jobs.

Deputy Tisdell recommends to subside fire disasters in the country, Liberia needs more Sub-station, Fire Trucks, Water Tankers, Ambulance amongst others.

Amidst recent reports on the fire incident around Monrovia the Liberia National Fire service proposed to publish a guidelines to educate populace understand the preventive measures in handling fires out burst.

Speaking in an interview on April 15, 2024 on the Prime Morning Drive(PMD) show Deputy Director for Operations, Edwin Tisdell mentioned that the main reason the LNFS is slow in working is due to the challenges they are faced with stressing they have only two trucks for which one is not functional in carrying out tasks due to mechanical failures and there’s no access to communities roads.

Tisdell added that citizens of Liberia needs to understand that Liberia National Fire and Rescue Service can not throw water in fire to have it cut off but rather understand the uses of fire alarms and have extinguishers at all time in their homes.

According to the Deputy Director for operations Tisdell, the cause of the fire at Speaker Fonati Koffa Residence was due to the breaker having electrical issues for which he do not know how the electrician was able to get it done but later created the huge fire disaster in the Speaker Home..

Meanwhile Deputy director at LNFS, Tisdell attributed the constant fires out burst is due to the illegal connections that was done during the end of the Weah- led government, and substandard wires they used in homes.

He also cautioned the Boakai government to increase the budget for the Liberia National Fire and Rescue service noting that it is very low to carry out more tasks that are to be done…

Written By: Sampat JMB Kpakima

Former Montserrado County # 5 Representative Candidate, Princess Ross alias Female General has called on the attention of Madam Mary Broh to train young women to continue her legacy as she’s aging.

Madam Ross stressed that she’s one person that had been following every activities of Madam Broh and noticed that she shares similar attributes and can do more than what Madam Broh can do if she’s given the chance.

Madam Ross disclosed her plans to replace Mary Broh and step in her shoe at a one day Stakeholders Post-Election survey dialogue organized by the Women Alliance Network Liberia with support from the International Women Media Foundation and National Democratic Institute.

This dialogue aimed at bringing together scores of women from different groups of society (the civil society organizations, women in politics and women Media) sharing their experiences in terms of violence they had during the election process.

Speaking at the event on Saturday, March 30 2024 Victoria Torlo Kioquah, the only female senatorial candidate for Montserrado County said she cannot run next election unless she has the support of women, saying it will be of no use to go through the campaign process if she don’t have the support of females and that it’s a big shame to all women of Liberia if they couldn’t make make the only female in the race a senator.

She was quoted as saying: “How will they? - When they are the ones feeding the men with information they know about their friends women. There’s no need I run 2029 if I can’t get the women of Liberia support.”

It can be recorded that during the October 10, 2023 elections Madam Victoria Torlo Koiquah was the only female senatorial candidate that ran in Montserrado county against thirty(30) male and accumulated the tally of over 50,000 votes.
