Is S.I.O a Nigerian/artist or a Liberian?
With such a huge following and influence he has accumulated over the years, why is he constantly dressing in another country’s traditional attire? This is why our people are constantly confused about their cultural identity because blind people continue to lead the blind in Liberia. Please release the foreign attire and start getting custom-made Liberian country clothes to wear if this is your style of dress. My goodness, the foreign influence over some Liberians really irritates every blood in me.

Upcoming Liberian Film “Nessinmen” Draws Inspiration From Grebo Culture

Liberian cinema is preparing to welcome another culturally inspired production with the upcoming movie Nessinmen, a Grebo name which filmmaker Kollie FGaygay says means “Water Spirit.”

Sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the production, Kollie expressed confidence in his team’s ability to create stories that connect with Liberian film lovers. The images offer a glimpse of a production seemingly rooted in traditional storytelling, with scenes filmed around natural surroundings and waterways.

According to the filmmaker, Nessinmen is expected to premiere on Alex Dweh TV in the coming weeks.

It is always exciting to see Liberian filmmakers incorporate the country’s diverse cultures, languages, and traditions into their work. With Liberia’s many ethnic groups carrying generations of stories, there remains tremendous potential for filmmakers to bring those narratives to audiences at home and abroad.

Liberian Stars View 🇱🇷 looks forward to seeing what Nessinmen brings to the screen.
