Massive Preparations Underway Across Lofa County Ahead of Arrival of Government’s “Yellow Machines”
Voinjama, Lofa County — October 3, 2026: Massive preparations have begun across Lofa County ahead of the arrival of the county’s portion of the Liberian Government’s earth-moving equipment, popularly referred to as the “Yellow Machines.”
According to Lofa County Superintendent Hon. J. Lavelah Massaquoi, no fewer than 30 pieces of earth-moving equipment are expected to arrive in Voinjama on Friday, October 9, 2026.
Superintendent Massaquoi said an elaborate celebration will be held in Voinjama, which will serve as Base One for the machines. On Saturday, October 10, 2026, a second ceremony will be held in Foya, designated as Base Two, where some of the equipment will be stored.
The Superintendent said the county will “go yellow” 🟡🟡🟡🟡🟡 in appreciation of the Liberian Government for providing the equipment.
«“Our first work will be the opening of all the streets in Voinjama as the county’s capital,” Superintendent Massaquoi stated.»
Meanwhile, an assessment conducted today observed massive printing of yellow T-shirts ahead of the scheduled arrival and celebrations on October 9 and 10.
The development has generated growing excitement across the county as residents prepare to welcome the equipment, which is expected to support road and infrastructure works in Lofa County.
