The National Transit Authority, Liberia. (NTA) has announced the arrival of 35 buses in country out of a total of sixty.

The vehicles are being procured under a contractual agreement between ABK Motors Incorporated and the National Transit Authority, according to from NTA.

The specifications of the entire sixty are 35 brand-new TATA mass transit buses (62-seater), 20 mini-buses (18-seater) and 5 heavy-duty cargo trucks.

The Liberian Senate will resume the second session of the 55th Legislature on Monday, January 13, 2025.

The ceremony for the opening of the 2nd Session will be marked by parade of members of both Houses of the Legislature and hosting of their respective county flags.

The observance is in keeping with Article 32(a) of the Liberian Constitution which states: "The Legislature shall assemble in Regular Session once a year on the second working Monday in January."

Following the traditional formalities in keeping with the law, the Senators will proceed to the Senate Chamber and observe the official program.

During the program, President Pro-Tempore Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence will deliver an opening statement and set the Senate's agenda for the second session.

Pro Tempore Lawrence will also use the ceremony to outline accomplishments during the 1st session, to include legislations passed, confirmations, and other instruments in committee room, as well as expectations during the 2nd session.

Immediately after the Opening program, members of the Senate will join their counterparts of the House of Representatives for a reception which is expected to be graced by President Joseph N. Boakai, Vice President Jeremiah K. Koung, the Chief Justice and Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of Liberia, including other officials of government, members of the diplomatic corps, International partners, amongst others.
