“The Eucharist is the highway to Heaven.” Blessed Carlo Acutis
St. Carlo Acutis, pray for us!
On September 7, 2025, the Catholic Church will witness a truly historic moment: the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. Though separated by nearly a century, these two luminous witnesses of faith continue to inspire countless souls around the world with their youthful zeal, profound charity, and unwavering love for God.
Carlo Acutis was only 15 years old when he passed to the Father’s house after a sudden illness. Yet in his brief life, he became a radiant Apostle of the Eucharist. His testimony convinces us that sanctity is not reserved for a few, but is possible for everyone even at a young age if only we live in constant intimacy with the Lord.
This young disciple left behind words and examples that form a spiritual roadmap for us, showing how to taste Heaven already here on earth:
1. “Mary is the only woman in my life.”
2. “By abiding before Jesus in the Eucharist, we become saints.”
3. “There are people who suffer much more than I do. I offer all the suffering I will have to the Lord, the Pope, and the Church.”
4. “Constantly ask your guardian angel for help. He must become your best friend.”
5. “Do not be afraid, because with the Incarnation of Jesus, death becomes life and there is no need to escape: in eternal life something extraordinary awaits us.”
6. “Jerusalem is just around the corner.”
7. “All people are born as originals, but many die as photocopies.”
8. “Happiness is looking at God, sadness is looking at yourself.”
9. “Criticizing the Church means criticizing yourself! The Church is the steward of treasures for our salvation.”
10. “The only thing we should ask God for in prayer is the desire to be holy.”
11. “Sorrow is a gaze turned toward oneself. Happiness is a gaze turned toward God.”
12. “I am happy to die because I have lived my life without wasting a minute on things that do not please God.”
Carlo will be declared a saint not because he promoted emotional slogans or occult-inspired prayers such as “back to sender,” but because of his heroic fidelity to Christ and to the Magisterium of the Church. His life reflects authentic Catholic spirituality rooted in the Eucharist, entrusted to Our Lady, and lived in obedience to the Church. His canonization reminds us that true holiness is measured not by shouting against enemies, but by allowing the grace of God to transform our lives in truth, humility, and love.
Shalom Haverim!
