On the Sidelines of Switching on Peace Island Lights, WASH Commission CEO briefs Pres Weah
On the sidelines of the event marking the switching on of electricity on Peace Island community today, by H. E. President George Weah and the European Union Ambassador to Liberia, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, the commissioner of the WASH commission Amb. Bobby Whitfield briefed President George Manneh Weah about a WASH Project to be dedicated on Peace Island.
The WASH commission boss at the same time thanked Liberia’s Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, Samuel D. Tweah jr for his participation and contributions in the recently concluded High-Level Stakeholders' Forum on finding short, medium and long term solutions to the water situation in Monrovia.
The WASH commission boss reiterated the need for Liberia to consider water, sanitation and hygiene as a Government of Liberia (GoL) priority in the next round of the European Union Cooperation funding program for Liberia.
