Desk Diary - DeD “Desk Diary” captures the essence of student life, the stories, achievements, challenges, and everyday moments that happen in classrooms, clubs, and beyond.

Desk Diary is a student-centered media and storytelling platform dedicated to ensuring that students are seen, heard, recognized, and inspired through journalism, storytelling, media production, school engagement, and youth empowerment. Like a diary kept at a student’s desk, it preserves authentic voices and experiences that might otherwise go unnoticed. MISSION:
To explore, document, and showcase

student life, achievements, and challenges through storytelling, multimedia content, and engagement, giving students a platform to share their journey and inspire others. VISION:
To create a space where students’ voices are celebrated, their accomplishments recognized, and their experiences shared widely, fostering a sense of community, motivation, and solidarity among learners locally and globally.

Desk Diary (DeD) proudly congratulates United Dawah on emerging as champions of the Smart Thinkers Liberia Debate Championship – Year 002.

In an interesting competition, United Dawah defeated Redemption, last year's finalists, and Otevan to claim the championship title and make history as newcomers turned champions.

Their success reflects the power of critical thinking, teamwork, confidence, preparation, and effective communication qualities that every student should strive to develop.

As the newly crowned champions, United Dawah will represent Montserrado County as Montserrado Team 2 at the Voices Liberia National Debate Championship.

Congratulations to the team on this remarkable achievement. We wish you success as you carry the hopes of your school and county to the national stage.

At Desk Diary (DeD), we are proud to celebrate students who continue to raise the Liberian flag high on the international stage.

Congratulations to Lomenie Kollie of Maretha International Preparatory School for winning the Regional Intellectual Property (IP) School Club Competition held at the headquarters of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) in Harare, Zimbabwe.

After emerging as Liberia's national champion, Lomenie went on to represent the country against students from Ghana, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zambia, ultimately bringing home the regional title.

This achievement is a testament to the power of education, innovation, creativity, and the potential of young Liberians to compete and excel beyond our borders.

We celebrate Lomenie, her school, mentors, and everyone who contributed to this remarkable success. Your achievement is inspiring a new generation of students to dream bigger and aim higher.

At Desk Diary (DeD), we believe that age is never a limitation to learning, confidence, and excellence.

Today, we are proud to spotlight Kollina Flomo, a Kindergarten II student, who confidently shared her knowledge about Liberia and its fifteen counties.

What makes this story even more special:

According to her mother, Savior Flomo, Kollina recorded the video entirely on her own. The video was only discovered later while her mother was checking her iPad.

This simple but remarkable moment highlights the curiosity, confidence, and creativity that young children possess when given the opportunity to learn and explore.

For a Kindergarten II student to independently record herself speaking about her country is a beautiful reminder that every child has potential waiting to be discovered and nurtured.

A student of Information Technology at Starz University and a graduate of Effort Baptist Church School, Charlyn is a passionate young leader driven by education, impact, and personal growth.
