A few weeks ago, I had the honor of meeting with the Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia-NPHIL Dr. Dougbeh Chris Nyan. Our discussion was both insightful and impactful, as we explored the current public health landscape and the challenges our country is facing particularly in light of the recent Mpox outbreak and how students across universities can minimize risk infection and carrying out safe practices.
As a Queen, I am deeply aware that this title carries more than just ceremonial significance; it comes with the responsibility to lead, advocate, and serve. The health and well-being of our people must always be a priority, especially during times of crisis.
The Mpox outbreak poses a serious public health concern, and it calls for a unified and proactive response from all sectors of society. Now more than ever, we must come together—as leaders, citizens, healthcare professionals, and community members—to support the efforts of our public health institutions and ensure that accurate information, preventive measures, and essential resources reach every corner of our nation.
This is a time for collective action, compassion, and commitment. I remain dedicated to using my platform to raise awareness, mobilize support, and work alongside all stakeholders to protect the health and dignity of every Liberian.
