ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY OF WEST AFRICA (AUWA)
VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT
The Adventist University of West Africa, AUWA, invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced, committed, and spiritually mature Seventh-day Adventist professionals for two important positions:
1. Vice President for Finance
2. Chief Accountant
The Vice President for Finance will provide strategic leadership in financial management, budgeting, accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, risk management, resource development, and overall financial stewardship of the University.
The Chief Accountant will oversee the University’s accounting operations, financial records, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and related accounting functions in accordance with Seventh-day Adventist policies, University regulations, generally accepted accounting principles, and the laws of Liberia.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be baptized Seventh-day Adventist members in good standing and committed to the mission and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
For Vice President for Finance, applicants must have at least a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field. A PhD is an added advantage.
For Chief Accountant, applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, while a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Applicants for either position should have a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible professional experience, preferably in financial management within a university, college, church institution, nonprofit, or other complex organization.
Applicants should also demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, internal controls, and Liberian financial requirements, with excellent written and oral English skills. Knowledge of the SUN-PLUS Accounting System is also required.
