JNB Visits Liberian-American Poultry Facility in Bomi County
Maher Community, Bomi County – The Head of Rescue Mission administration , Joseph Boakai on Monday, May 5, 2025, paid an official visit to the facilities of Liberian-American Poultry (LAP) located in Maher Community, Clay District, Bomi County.
Liberian-American Poultry (LAP) operates a network of seven chicken hangars and an egg collection center, each hangar housing 75,000 birds, for a total flock of 525,000 chickens.
Collectively, these farms produce approximately half a million eggs daily, which are distributed to markets across Liberia and neighboring countries, including Sierra Leone.
LAP employs over 200 residents from the surrounding communities, with women making up 75% of the workforce.
This strong female representation underscores LAP’s commitment to inclusive employment and community-based economic empowerment.
Beyond poultry farming, LAP is also actively involved in vegetable cultivation, contributing significantly to local food security and Liberia’s agricultural development goals.
The head of Rescue Mission, Joseph Boakai visit signals the Administration recognition and support of agribusiness ventures that create employment opportunities, increase domestic food production, and strengthen the national economy.
