‎ A credible source has informed this Great Man Walking Blog that former LACRA Board Chair Josephine Francis and former Director General Dan Saryee have returned a vehicle that was originally purchased for the institution's Technical Unit but had been assigned to Madam Francis for her personal use.

‎According to the source, the pickup truck was purchased to support field operations but was later given to Madam Francis by former Director General Saryee, as a means of gaining favor with the Board.
‎
‎Information gathered further indicates that Madam Francis' driver officially turned over the vehicle to the head of LACRA's Security Unit, Thursday.
‎
‎On June 8, 2026, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai demoted Madam Josephine Francis from her position as Board Chair to serve as a board member of another government entity. On the same day, Dan Saryee was removed from his post as Director General over allegations of poor administrative practices.
‎
‎Mr. Saryee is expected to formally hand over his office to the current Director General, Christopher Sankolo any time soon.
‎
‎With the return of the vehicle, the institution is expected to improve on its field worker. Individuals in the unit has reportedly faced transportation challenges in carrying out their duties.

Senator Chea: Unity Party Can’t Cry Foul Over Disrespect Now After Backing Prophet Key, Yekeh vs. Weah

MONROVIA – Sinoe County Senator Augustine S. Chea says officials of the Unity Party are now experiencing the consequences of a political culture they once tolerated and benefited from when it was directed at former President George Weah and his family.

In a commentary titled “If the House Doesn’t Sell You, the Street Will Not Buy You,” Senator Chea recalled years of public attacks by controversial preacher Prophet Key and former Representative Yekeh Kolubah against Weah, his wife, and mother. According to him, rather than condemning such behavior, many opposition figures applauded it and gained political advantage from it.

Chea argued that the situation has now changed. Prophet Key is currently imprisoned, while Yekeh Kolubah lost his seat in the House of Representatives. He said those who once celebrated personal attacks are now objecting when similar conduct is directed at them.

“What is good for the goose is good for the gander,” Chea stated, emphasizing that civility and respect should apply to everyone regardless of political affiliation.

The Senator also warned that Liberia’s public discourse is deteriorating, with insults and vulgar language increasingly being mistaken for courage and political strength.

He stressed that meaningful criticism is being overshadowed by personal attacks and called for an education system that promotes character, discipline, and respect alongside academic achievement.

Executive Mansion, Monrovia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has relieved Ambassador Sheikh Al-Moustapha Kouyateh of his duties as Ambassador-at-Large for Special Duties and Special Presidential Envoy, with immediate effect.

In a communication dated June 8, 2026, President Boakai informed Ambassador Kouyateh that recent events arising from public statements attributed to him concerning the Honorable House of Representatives, coupled with subsequent communications received from that body expressing a Vote of No Confidence in his continued service, have created circumstances requiring presidential attention and action.

The President emphasized that the success of Liberia’s national development agenda depends on constructive engagement, mutual respect, and effective collaboration among the three coordinate branches of Government.

The Liberian Chief Executive noted that the implementation of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development requires strong working relationships among national institutions in pursuit of the common good.

The President thanked Ambassador Kouyateh for his service to the nation and wished him well in his future endeavors.
