Reformers National Congress Elects New Leadership Amid Calls for aggressive foreign investment.

Monrovia, Liberia –The Reformers National Congress (RNC) newly inducted chairman Daniel B.F. DeShield has called for aggressive foreign investment initiatives to generate employment opportunities, advocating for policies that would facilitate economic relief for the people of Liberia.
In his inaugural speech, DeShield expressed deep gratitude for the trust placed in him and recognized the foundational work of his predecessors, particularly the late Mr. Momo K. Follay, whose legacy he vowed to uphold. "Leadership is an awesome responsibility," he stated.

The ceremony also served as a moment of reflection, paying tribute to the enduring contributions of past leaders, including former vice standard bearer Madam Grace Yancy Yuan and National Secretary General Hon. Alexander Zharn.
DeShield reaffirmed his commitment to the democratic ideals that unite political entities in Liberia. announced plans to form alliances with other political institutions to confront emerging challenges, advocating for inter-party dialogue and mutual respect to strengthen the nation’s democratic institutions.
Highlighting the RNC's historical support of the Unity Party (UP) during the critical runoff of the 2023 elections, DeShield reiterated the party's commitment to collaborative governance. "We demonstrated our shared vision for Liberia's future," he said, reinforcing the importance of unity in addressing the nation's challenges.
He however expressed profound gratitude to President Joseph Nyumah Boakai and his administration for Liberia's election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, a position the country will hold from 2026 to 2027. This achievement, he noted, underscores Liberia’s growing influence on the global stage.
However, DeShield did not shy away from addressing concerns regarding the RNC's exclusion from the rebuilding process under the current government, urging the Unity Party to prioritize the pressing economic needs of the citizenry.
As the RNC looks ahead to the 2029 general elections, DeShield emphasized the necessity of renewal and persistence, urging party leaders and members to prepare for the upcoming challenges. "We must act now," he asserted, calling for collective action to secure the party’s future.
