🚨 Liberia’s Education needs serious attention as Crisis worsens .

The 2025 WASSCE results expose a national disgrace. Out of 51,719 12th graders, only 822 students passed with credits in five core subjects, including English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, and one elective. This means a staggering 50,897 students (98.44%) failed to meet graduation requirements. These students should not graduate and must retake the exams.

Subject-wise Performance:

English Language: 52,020 sat | 30,571 passed | 21,449 failed (58.77% pass rate)

Mathematics: 51,073 sat | 27,599 passed | 23,474 failed (54.04% pass rate)

Economics: 50,622 sat | 19,500 passed | 31,122 failed (38.52% pass rate)

Chemistry: 46,613 sat | 29,976 passed | 16,637 failed (64.31% pass rate)

Geography: 51,284 sat | 31,890 passed | 19,394 failed (62.18% pass rate)

Physics: 46,653 sat | 18,336 passed | 28,317 failed (39.30% pass rate)

Literature: 47,962 sat | 29,486 passed | 18,476 failed (61.48% pass rate)

History: 48,062 sat | 42,011 passed | 6,051 failed (87.41% pass rate – highest)

🚨 Analysis:

1. English & Mathematics: Foundational subjects reveal low mastery; 41.23% failed English and 45.96% failed Mathematics, leaving nearly half the students academically unprepared.

2. Critical Subject Weakness: Physics (39.30% pass) and Economics (38.52% pass) show severe gaps in STEM education and financial literacy.

3. Moderate Competence: Chemistry, Geography, and Literature performed moderately but still left a large portion of students failing.

4. Exceptional Outlier: History achieved 87.41% pass, reflecting isolated success, likely due to memorization rather than broader comprehension.

5. Systemic Failure: With 98.44% of students failing five-credit requirements, the results highlight collapse in teaching quality, curriculum delivery, and student preparedness under Boakai.

6. Immediate Action Needed: Students who failed must retake exams before graduation to prevent an unprepared generation from entering higher education or the workforce.

The 2025 WASSCE results under Boakai’s watch will be remembered as #1 darkest educational moments in Liberia’s academic history, highlighting a national disgrace and national emergency in education.

Have you ever asked yourself why the China Mall in Liberia is unnecessarily more expensive than the Chinese malls in Ghana?

The answer is simple: Ghana protects its people Liberia does not.

In Ghana, the government regulates prices, especially in foreign-owned businesses. They don’t allow foreigners to just fix prices however they want. Ghana also limits the number of foreign workers in these businesses to make sure their own citizens are employed.

But in Liberia, it's the opposite.
Foreigners are allowed to:

Overprice goods without any accountability

Flood their shops with their own workers

Control the entire supply chain

And push Liberians out of the market

Even worse, Liberia has a sea port, yet goods here are more expensive than in landlocked countries like Mali, Burkina Faso, or even Rwanda. Let that sink in.

How does a country with direct sea access pay higher prices than nations that must import through multiple borders? It’s a clear sign of poor regulation, lack of enforcement, and foreign businesses taking advantage of a weak system.

How can a foreign business operate in Liberia and sell basic household items more expensive than the same business in another African country with a better economy?

Liberians deserve better.

Our government must wake up and start protecting the interests of its people. It’s time to regulate prices in foreign-owned businesses. It’s time to enforce immigration and business laws. It’s time to prioritize Liberian employment and ownership.

We are not asking for too much, we are asking for fairness and leadership.

Let Ghana inspire us. Let’s start putting Liberia first. Let’s stop being strangers in our own economy.

Share this if you believe Liberia can do better.

Zambian Music Icon Dandy Krazy Dies in Tragic New Year’s Eve Collision

Zambia is mourning the loss of one of its most celebrated musicians, Dandy Krazy, who passed away at the age of 47 following a road collision on New Year's Eve.

Born Wesley Chibambo, Dandy Krazy was traveling in the Kapiri Mposhi region when his vehicle collided with a truck and a second car. The accident claimed three lives at the scene. Dandy Krazy was rushed to the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka for emergency surgery but succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Thursday.

President Hakainde Hichilema led the tributes, describing him as an "extraordinary artist" whose music brought people together. "His music and charisma touched lives far and wide, crossing all boundaries," the president said in a heartfelt Facebook post.

Dandy Krazy's daughter, Comfort, shared an emotional tribute, reflecting on the timing of his passing on Shanice's birthday, his third-born child. "Even in death, we will always love you, Papa. Your will, Lord, hurts, but we trust in you," she wrote.

Known for his impactful political commentary through music, Dandy Krazy gained national fame with his song Donchi Kubeba, which played a pivotal role in the Patriotic Front's (PF) 2011 election victory. The track, meaning "Don’t Tell Them," criticized the unequal distribution of wealth in Zambia. Former President Michael Sata later honored him with the Grand Commander of the Order of Freedom.

In addition to Donchi Kubeba, his hit songs like Chintelelwe and collaborations on tracks such as Chipuba Chandi by Indi K and Temperature by Uniq solidified his legacy as a pioneer in Zambian music.

Politician and lawyer Sakwiba Sikota paid tribute, comparing Dandy Krazy's work to global icons like Bob Marley, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan, and John Lennon for his profound social and political commentary. "Dandy Krazy was a giant in the Zambian music industry," Sikota wrote on Facebook.

The Zambian government has pledged to assist with funeral expenses for Dandy Krazy and the others who lost their lives in the tragic accident.

Dandy Krazy's passing leaves an irreplaceable void in Zambia’s cultural and musical landscape. He will be remembered for his contributions to music, his influence on social change, and the joy he brought to countless fans.
