Living as a young man in a world filled with challenges often feels like an uphill battle.
For me, that struggle is heightened by my upbringing—being raised by a loving, yet overburdened single mother in a country grappling with a high unemployment rate.
From a young age, I have witnessed the complexities of life through my mother’s eyes. A woman of great strength and resilience, she has always done her utmost to provide for our small household, juggling multiple jobs while facing the harsh realities of financial insecurity. Our home is filled with love and laughter, but the shadow of economic struggle hangs heavily over our daily lives.
Each month brings financial uncertainty as bills pile up like the laundry that often goes undone. It’s a cycle that leaves little room for anything beyond survival. My mother frequently stays up late, carefully budgeting every dollar, while I lie awake, wondering about our future and trying to fit my dreams into the cracks of uncertainty. Despite her exhaustion, she never fails to remind me of the importance of education and hard work, often saying, “A good education is the key to a better life.”
Living in a country plagued by high unemployment rates, the struggle for a better life becomes even more daunting. The headlines are filled with stories of job losses and economic downturns, and I watch as my peers sink into despair, their ambitions dulled by a discouraging reality. Opportunities that seem plentiful for others feel like a mirage to us—always just out of reach.
As I walk through my neighborhood, I see young men and women, full of potential, who share a similar fate. We find ourselves in a cycle of hope and disappointment, where ambition often meets rejection letters or silence.
The stigma surrounding unemployment weighs heavily; it’s easy to feel trapped in a narrative that suggests we are destined for failure.
Yet, amidst the struggles, dreams persist.
I often find solace in my passions—Graphic Design, Marketing, and hanging out with friends.
These interests are not just hobbies; they are lifelines to a brighter future. Graphic designing, in particular, has become an outlet for my feelings, allowing me to express my desire for a life beyond the confines of my current situation. In my art, I pour out my frustrations, hopes, and determination to break free from the hardships that surround me.
