Update:

Former President George Weah speaks on CDC’s eviction and property demolition:

READ 👇👇 READ 👇 👇 READ 👇

Fellow Liberians, I have received today news of the eviction and destruction of our Party Headquarters. Unfortunate and regrettable as this is, I wish to encourage all Liberians, especially our supporters and sympathisers to stay calm, remain law abiding and respect due process, in the interest of our democracy, the rule of law and a peaceful co-existence among all Liberians irrespective of party, social, ethnic or tribal affiliations. Fellow Liberians, fellow partisans of the Coalition for Democratic Change, today we witnessed yet another testament of the Unity Party government gross disregard for the rule of law. Emboldened by impunity, they continue to abuse power, testing our nation's fragile peace and democracy. Their list of violations grows daily—from police brutality against ordinary citizens to outright disregard of court orders.

We must, however, take the high road. In the interest of peaceful coexistence, I urge everyone to remain calm, law-abiding, and respectful of due process, despite this partisan political mischief from the Unity Party government.

In the legal battle over the ownership of the CDC headquarters, our party has always followed the rule of law and openly stated its willingness to abide by the court's final ruling, regardless of the outcome. Yet, before the matter was fully exhausted, the trigger-happy, partisan leadership of the police force, with direct instructions from Boakai himself, sprang into action. This was not a lawful eviction; it was a failed mission to destroy and erase the CDC in an attempt to fulfil the very wish Boakai has repeatedly expressed to his lieutenants.

While executing this criminal act, amid the cheers of their partisans, they failed to notice the loud silence of the vast majority of ordinary Liberians. Our people are in disbelief at this administration's reckless behavior in its quest to consolidate power.

Posterity will punish them harshly.

While the loss of our office building is a setback, I want to emphasize that it is only temporary. We shall overcome this sooner rather than later, thanks to your unwavering commitment, determination, and resilience fellow Cdcians, coalitions, well wishes and sympathizers.

Fellow partisans , do not be despair. While we admit these are difficult times, our party has faced worse situations — even from the very same actors we see today—and we have emerged stronger. We shall prevail.

The UP leadership under Boakai are destroyers, but we are builders.

A Special National Headquarters Delivery Committee is being established to immediately begin the construction work so that we can have a modern, state of the art new home in record time . We shall execute this while we emabrk on a national tour to inform our people
In my journey to the heights I have achieved, I have seen such hiccups before. We shall never waver. Together we will build.

We are survivors by history. We are blessed with a spirit that overcomes even the most tragedies and misfortunes. Remember: the unity, strength, and identity of our Party and coalition are not found in bricks and mortar. They live in the minds, hearts, and fighting spirit of our teeming supporters.

Therefore, I call on every member of our party, our sympathizers, to mobilize and focus our energies on constructing our next premises. I must be clear: resist the temptation to take the law into your own hands. However disappointed we are by this outcome, I call on each of you to continue respecting the law and due process. Fellow partisans, well wishes and sympathizers I am optimistic about our political future.

Together, we will build a better homeland for our party. So help me God.
God bless Liberia!

The demolition is removal of people from premises that don't belong to them according to the law president Boakai told reporter at Roberts International Airport upon his arrival in Liberia.

A Sad Day for Liberian Politics: Musa Bility Calls for Reflection, Not Celebration

The eviction of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) from its national headquarters is a sad day for Liberian politics and for our democracy. While the matter may find justification in law, its ex*****on has left the impression of humiliation, division, and triumphalism, all of which are dangerous for our fragile political culture.

The humiliation of any political party is not a victory for democracy. The only proper and legitimate way to defeat a political party is through the ballot box. To celebrate otherwise is to cheapen the very foundation of multiparty democracy that Liberia has fought so hard to build. What happened should not have happened, and no one should find joy in it.

At the same time, it is important to ask what kind of leadership the CDC itself provided its members in the midst of this longstanding dispute. The issue of tenancy and legal obligations has been ongoing for years. What precautionary measures did the party take to avoid this outcome? Could the humiliation we witnessed have been prevented through foresight, negotiation, or compromise? Leadership is tested not only in times of triumph, but in the ability to anticipate challenges and protect the dignity of one’s institution.

To the Unity Party, this is not a moment for celebration, but a moment for reflection. Years back, when the political climate was in reverse, you too faced similar circumstances. That was not a laughing matter. That was not a funny moment. The same accusations now being leveled against you, of having a hand in this eviction, were yesterday leveled against the CDC. This cycle of blame and humiliation is precisely why, in the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC), we insist that the polarization of our politics must end. A new act and a new attitude must take root if Liberia is to move forward.

This episode should be a sobering moment for all of us. Our democracy cannot survive on humiliation and revenge. It can only grow through tolerance, civility, and the genuine competition of ideas.

It is our hope that the CDC will use this painful experience as an opportunity to retool, revamp, and focus on strengthening its internal structures and service to its members. For the ruling establishment, this should be a time of reflection on how to engage opponents with civility and maturity. And for Liberia as a whole, let this serve as a reminder: humiliation is not democracy, and democracy cannot survive without respect, fairness, and peace.
