Theme: THE LIVING WORD WORKS WONDERS

Welcome to another day of revelation. We have earlier stated that the perilousness of the present day demands in-depth knowledge and application of God’s word.

We showed that the totality of God’s word revealed to man through the harmonious writings of about 40 inspired authors in a span of over 1500 years, is the spiritual resource kept for man to make a fruitful and fulfilled life on the terrestrial plane.

It was stated that there was a divine inspiration or infusion on prepared vessels that birthed their word and works, which must be seen as the word of God to humanity, even though the message may reflect the writer’s personality, literary style, etc. (Lk.4:4; 1:1-4; 1Cor.7:12,25).

Today, we shall be exploring the Incubation of the Word.

Topic: THE INCUBATION OF THE WORD

Subtexts: Deut.4:1,4-6,40; Jos.1:8; 2Tim.4:13

Incubation is a process of keeping eggs or embryos warm or in favourable conditions for the perfection of their metamorphosis (hatching or developing) as demonstrated by birds brooding over their eggs, and medical personnel keeping premature neonates in incubators.

So incubation is a preparatory process for the emergence of a matured creature. It is employed by God in certain occasions. The Spirit of God brooded over the chaotic watery world until the divine word came (Gen.1:1-3). After the anointing of David, he was not immediately crowned but was rather processed until matured enough to sit on the throne judging the 12 tribes of Israel (1Sam.16:10-13, 18-23; 2Sam.3:1; 5:1-12). When Prophet Elijah appeared to have expired, it took a divine incubation to restore and return him to a glorious 3rd phase of ministry (cons. 1kgs.19:1-18). The Lord Jesus was driven into a 40 days incubation before He emerged to take the world (Mk.1:10-13; Lk.4:14) and during His brief earthly ministry, He had some short incubation moments to get direction (Lk.6:12). The apostles went into some upper room-incubation before the dunamis for discipleship was delivered (Lk.24:49; Acts 1:3-4; 2:1-3). Apostle Paul considered his restrictions as times of incubation and so maximally utilized them (hence 2Tim.4:13; Phil.4:11,12). Emperor Domitian’s exile of

Apostle John to Patmos served as an incubation that birthed the Book of Revelation (Rev.1:9-10).

So there can be deliberate personal incubation (Lk.6:12; Isa.40:31) or divinely designed incubation where one doesn’t have an option than to be restricted (2Tim.4:13; Mk.1:10-13). What is most important is one’s ability to incubate with the WORD of God.

Spending time with the word of God is same as spending time with God. There is a place for bible reading, praying in scriptures and also for meditation. The word of God contains particles’ of the Spirit of God (Jn. 6:63)

The word ‘meditate’ in Jos.1:8; Ps.1:2 came from the Hebrew word Hâgâh (pronounced haw-gaw’) which means to murmur, ponder. It seems to be an onomatopoetic term, reflecting the sighings and low sounds one may make while musing, at least as the ancients practiced it.

It has to do with contemplation, thinking deeply, focusing one’s thought on what God has said and preparing the heart for prayers (Ps.119:147-148). This deep thinking on the word is akin to incubating the word; and when the WORD is incubated, it yields benefits. (Lk. 4:4)

The benefits of meditation include:

Increased love for God and hence obedience to His will (cp. Ps.68:11)
Renewal of mind: strength and assurance (Rom.12:1-2)

Estrangement to sin (Ps.119:11,163)
Peace that follows awareness of the promises (Ps.119:165)
Empowering prayer and stability of faith (Rom.10:17)
New insight and spiritual understanding (Ps.77:4-12)
Prosperity in all applicable areas (Jos.1:8; Ps.1:1-2)

Meditation is a powerful catalyst for spiritual growth.

At this divinely predicted perilous times, the elect of God must gravitate to the consciousness of divine providence and regular incubation (Isa.46:9,10; 44:24,26,28, 45:21).

The child of God must set the machinery of meditation in motion to tackle all challenges of life (Ps.1:2-3)

Theme: THE LIVING WORD WORKS WONDERS

Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ Who daily loads us with all benefits (Ps.68:19). The testimonies of God’s faithfulness being expressed in the new dispensation of the church are continually flooding the airwaves – Joy of Jubilee is real.

In this edition, the Lord would have more light to be thrown on the WORD, so that there will be actionable knowledge and the associated benefits (Lk.4:4).

The current state of the world demands indepth knowledge of the word, in order to counter the alluring pressures to compromise or get into passitivity (acceptance of whatever happens without any resistance) or even totally succumb - throwing in the towel (2Tim.3:1-2; Matt.24:12; Dan.11:32).

It should always be borne in mind that at the conception of the world, the Godhead had a Master-Plan for the ‘human-project’ whereby mortal creatures made in His image would be afforded resources that would be used to attain/achieve divine purpose (Gen.1:28).

The said/proposed resources include visible physical elements, mental variety and spiritual assets (angelic assistance and the living Word).

It is what a man makes out of the WORD that determines how successful he will be on earth and hereafter. The WORD is an indispensable resource that every elect must be acquainted with in order to have a successful pilgrimage.

Our message shall come under the following daily points:

The Inspiration of the WORD.
The Incubation of the WORD.
The Inoculation and Intubation with the WORD.

Topic: THE INSPIRATION OF THE WORD

Subtexts: 2Tim.3:16-17; 2Pet.1:21

The word ‘inspiration’ comes from the Greek Thӗŏpnӗustŏs (pronounced theh-op’-nyoo-stos) which means ‘divinely breathed in’, ‘a breathing into by God’. It is viewed as divine-spiration or the product of His creative breath.

Apostle Paul saw the scriptures as not only inspiring to read or the authors were divinely inspired but that its origin means that it is the very word of God: Spoken words of God (Rom.3:1-2); when scriptures speak, God

speaks (1Cor.6:16; Heb.3:7; comp. Ps.95:6,7; Heb.10:15). So the scripture has to do with God’s direction of the prepared human authors to compose and record His message to humanity in their original writings.

The authors were prepared to write in as much as the prophets were prepared to speak (Jer.1:4-9; cp. Exo.4:8-16; 2:10; Acts 7:22-25; 1Sam.3: ;Isa.6:1-9; Ezek.2:3-3:11; Amos 7:14-15; Gal.1:15; Rev.1:10-11,19).

The Apostles were received as authoritative by the early church as the Old Testament prophets under inspiration (1Cor.2:9-14; 14:37; Gal.4:16; 1Thess.2:13; 5:27; 2Thess3:6; 2Pet.2:3). Apostle Peter referred to Paul’s writing as scripture (2Pet.3:15-16 inferred in Jude 17,18).

God Himself originally wrote the Decalogue (Exo.24:12; 31:18; 32:16), and does dictate to chosen authors (Exo.34:27-28; Rev.1:10-11). He uses the writer’s personality, theological meditations and literary styles. Inspiration was not always continuous in the writer’s mind (Jer.1:2; 14:1; 26:1). The divine inscripturated message often surpasses the writer’s understanding (Dan.12:8-9; LK.10:23,24; 1Pet.1:10-12).

It should be noted that the Biblical authors were not always aware that divine inspiration was at work in them (LK.1:1-4). The apostles did write divinely inspired letters in responding to questions and by stating their opinions (1Cor.7:1,25).

So in God’s human project, selected vessels are exposed to environments and experiences that will equip them for the assignment of speaking or authoring the sacred messages as with Moses, Luke, Paul and the Lord Jesus.

At the time of writing or speaking, God infuses His mind, thoughts, plans, ways to them to speak, think, write and talk like Him.

In God’s Master Plan, about 40 authors from different backgrounds in a span of over 1500 years are to produce the supernatural congruity, a divine masterpiece that stands as the very word of God to mankind; bearing life for all dimensions of man’s existence (Heb.4:12; Lk.4:4; Pro.18:10; Ps.138:2).

It contains divine plan, purpose, prophecies, promises, principles and precepts, revealed to be harnessed for a victorious pilgrimage (Deut.8:3; Ps.119:49; Isa.46:10; Jer.29:11; Matt.24:35; Heb.6:17,18).

The word of God is living and so has inherent life-releasing effect.

Our gratitude goes to the Almighty Who has taken us to the end of the beautiful 3 weeks spiritual ride. The testimonies are resounding on grace enjoyed, healing of homes and physical bodies preservation, enlightening of eyes of understating, revelations and spiritual uplift. Our texts reveal the transformation of immortal Deity to moral humanity for some divine purpose (Isa. 46:9,10, Ps. 33:11, Pro. 19:21, Rom. 8:28-31, 11:33-36) This phenomenon can be called the mother of all metamorphosis.

Our message shall come under 3 points viz. (A) The Process of the Metamorphosis

The Purpose of The Mother of Metamorphosis (C) The Pertinent Lessons from the Phenomenon.

THE PROCESS OF THE METAMORPHOSIS (Jn. 1:1-4, 14, Heb. 2:9)

In Biology, metamorphosis is defined as “the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in 2 or more distinct stages Eg. Egg to larva to pupa to imago seen in insects.

A dictionary defined it (i) as a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one (ii) change of physical form, structure or substance especially by spiritual means.

This last definition is closer to our context. The Greek word mӗtamŏrphŏō (pronounced met-am-or-fŏ׳-o) was translated transfigured (Matt. 17:2, Mk. 9:2), transformed (Rom. 12:2) as a verb means to change into another form.

Now, by mother of metamorphosis we infer the greatest originator of metamorphosis.

Mother of metamorphosis has to do with the eternal Word transforming to a mortal Man; the Creator turning to a Creature (Jn. 1:1-3,14, 8:56-59, 16:27-28, Col. 1:16-17). Vacating His seat as a Diety to become a limited man (Jn. 1:14, 17:5, Phil. 2:5) whose status is less than that of angels in heaven, His creatures (Heb. 2:9).

The process was like none other than had existed: neither like the creation of Adam and Eve nor like angels (Gen. 2:721-23, Lk. 1:35, 1 Cor. 15:48-49). And so His birth was remarkable (Isa. 7:14, Lk. 2:7-14)

THE PURPOSE OF THE MOTHER OF METAMORPHOSIS

The Apostle revealed that it was for the purpose of suffering of death (Heb. 2:9, 14-18). This program was designed before the creation where by the only terrestrial creature made in God’s image would be redeemed by a vicarious death (Acts 2:22-23, 4:28). He couldn’t have come as an angel from heaven, as angels don’t suffer physical death or harm (cp. Isa. 53:3-5, Matt. 20:28, 26:64-68, 27:27-31, 34-36, 45-51)

So, the Divine plan was that the 2nd Person in the Godhead called the LOGOS or Word

was to be transformed to the status of a creature so that He would live on earth as a Model and die vicariously thereby setting up a mechanism for the recovery of any man that cares (Isa. 53:11,12, 1Cor. 15:45). And whosoever cares by accepting His substituted death will automatically put on His righteousness (2 Cor. 5:21); and is expected to live for Him and also enjoy the other dividends of His vicarious death (2 Cor. 5:15, Jn.3:1-7, 1:12; Matt. 6:33). But whosoever neglects this substituted work shall groan in anguish throughout eternity (Rev. 21:7-8, Heb. 2:2-3, Eph. 5:1-8, 1 Cor. 6:9-10, Ps. 9:17)

THE PERTINENT LESSONS FROM THE PHENOMENON

All scriptures revolve around the Person of Jesus (Jn. 5:39). The feat carried out by the Godhead to transform the Word to a man teaches that whatever an elect needs can easily be supplied by God (Lk. 1:37, Jer. 32:27).

Secondly, if the Creator could step down to become like His creature, what can He not do for the wellbeing of His redeemed that He has paid so much for? (Rom. 8:29, 1 Cor. 6:20). Therefore, He can give us the desired enabling status, enabling resources and enabling environment.

Thirdly, whosoever neglects this eternal plan of God will roast in eternity, lamenting the missed opportunities (Lk. 16:19-24)

The mother of all metamorphosis is a beacon of hope for all in need of some form of metamorphosis.

As we approach the terminus of the fasting program, we must appreciate the grace of God that was abundantly shed upon participants and the miracles that have been testified of. Yet greater testimonies lie ahead (Jn. 1:50)

The scriptures reveal that the Lord is the Chief Executive, Head of legislature and Chief Judge of the earth (Isa. 33:22). And in our text, Abram in his defence, acknowledged the judicial office of the Lord calling Him Judge of all the earth (Gen. 18:25)

To arraign means to bring before a court to answer a charge; prosecute, put on trial.

Our topic therefore says, “prosecute the adversary”, at the court of the Lord, Who happens to be the Law Giver and Sovereign.

We shall look at (A) The Rationale Behind The Prosecution (B) The Result Expected Of The Arraignment

Note that the adversary is anything that has constituted itself an opponent to your existence or well-being. It can be spirits (Eph. 6:12) or mortals (1 Cor. 15:32, 2 Pt. 2:12). It can be a law promulgated (Dan. 6:3-9), yoke of ill health (Matt. 8:14-15), curse running in a family like premature death, barrenness, misfortunes (2 Kgs. 5:27), Economic situation (2 Kgs. 6:24-31) etc.

The challenges shall be presented to the Lord today.

THE RATIONALS BEHIND THE PROSECUTION

By rationale we mean reasons or logical basis for our course of action – prosecution

The Lord asks us to present our matters in prayer (Jn. 15:11, 16:24)

We are of His kingdom and are intercessors and have access to the judgment

seat or throne (Phil. 3:20, Heb. 4:16, Eph. 2:6, cp. Isa. 59:16, Jer. 5:1, Ezk,

22:30)

The Lord Jesus has paid for our peace and prosperity in full and so we should

scripturally resist anything saying otherwise (Isa. 53:5, 2 Cor. 8:9)

The judge is trustworthy, and there is no fear of partiality or bribery that can

give the enemy an advantage (Jer. 9:23,24, Ps. 50:12-15)

The judge is equally perfect in knowledge and so there is no room for fear of

deceitful maneuvers by the adversary as seen in corrupt societies (Ps. 139:1-

13, 147:5, Prov. 15:3, Isa, 46:10)

RESULT EXPECTED OF THE ARRAIGNMENT

The righteous judge will defend His name and bring the oppressor to book (Lk. 18:7-8, Judg. 1:4-7, Prov. 11:21). He will show forth His righteousness by giving all their merit (Gen. 18:25, Gal. 6:7). Miracles shall happen, great miracles!

As the Sovereign who watched His elect suffer the weight of the oppressor, He will deliver and leave a great testimony of joy (cons. Lk. 18:7-8, Job 42:12, Rom. 8:28). All human laws and decrees are revocable (Matt. 19:26, Est. 8:7-17)

Whatever therefore be the adversary, present it to the righteous Judge, putting forth reasons why it must be stopped (Isa. 41:10-21, 42:10-17).

It is jubilee era and the Lord must confirm His word.

Let’s rise to prosecute.
