Death threat from a renowned lawyer on a journalist's life should not be taken likely. Retrospecting on how people have been murdered in Liberia, we shouldn't take this threat on the life of a journalist who's executing her function for a joke. No! It's not joking matter!

This ‘life-threatening’ situation involving BBC reporter Jonathan Paye-Layleh and the President of the Republic of Liberia, Amb. George M. Weah requires urgent attention and prompt intervention from all those concerned, including the International Media Community. We are fully aware of how most people (sycophants) tend to prove their loyalty to leaders even at the detriment (sometimes, death) of others. We can still recall the situations with the late Isaac Vaye and John Yormie. Who were murdered only because the President felt discontented with them. With such an allegation from a popular President like Amb. Weah, who knows which one of his thousands of supporters and admirers, most of whom ‘sycophantic loyalist’ would want to demonstrate their loyalty against this journalist, Jonathan? We are all aware how people get murdered in this country with impunity- Harry Greeves, Cllr. Allison and others are classic examples. This man’s life is seriously threatened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
