Manipakei Dumoe, does not have the power to free Charles Taylor,"Said Samuel Dahn.
The campaign chairperson of Senatorial aspirant,Hon.Adam Bill Corneh in the upcoming midterm senatorial elections,Mr Samuel Dahn,
sharply reacts to recent statement by senatorial hopeful,Manikpakei Dumoe.
It can be recalled in September 2020, senatorial hopeful in the upcoming midterm senatorial elections, Manikpakei Dumoe took the streets of Gbarnga B**g county with former warlord president Charles Taylor photos on his vehicle, engaging B**gese to vote him as senator.
Dumoe at the same time disclosed to scores of B**gese as,if he wins the election,he will free former Liberian president Charles Taylor from jail.
“Jewel has been suppressed in this government that’s why she hasn’t been afforded the time; but I believed that if I am elected as senator I will help the vice president in releasing Charles Taylor by lobbying with colleagues in the senate,” he said.
But speaking to New Dawn News Paper about his campaign activities in B**g county for the upcoming senatorial elections, the campaign chairperson, for Hon. Adam Bill Corneh,Mr.Samuel Dahn termed Dumoe statement as strategy for self aggrandizement in order to win the election.
Mr. Dahn made the disclosures to our correspondent via phone in an interview on Saturday November 21,2020,terming Dumoe statement,as strategy to win the election in B**g county.
He however explained as,Dumoe does not have the power to free Charles Taylor from jail even if he is elected as senator for B**g county.
"Dumoe can not free Charles Taylor,Taylor wife,Jewel Howard Taylor is the current vice president, and she doesn't have the power to free Taylor, who is Dumoe to free him,"he stressed.
Meanwhile Mr. Dahn urged lower B**g county citizens to vote Hon. Adam Bill Corneh as their next senator in the county.
He said Hon,Corneh knows, how to legislate due to his past experiences in the house of representative, when he served the people of Salala district for twelve (12) years as such,he needs to be voted for the Liberian Senate.
The campaign chairperson reemphasized, the former Liberian state man commitments to building human capacity if elected.
He named some of Corneh past developments as,Salala city public library,Kpakolokoyata public school and Frelela town hall among others.
Dahn also stressed as,it is time for lower B**g citizens to vote their own son,in order to represent their needs in the lawmaking body of Liberia.
"This is about lower B**g solidarity,we the citizens of lower B**g need to vote for Hon. Corneh to have our voices heard in the legislature, because we have been marginalized by leaders from upper B**g"he added.
At the same the chairman Dahn has terms deputy house speaker Prince K. Moye ambition for the senatorial seat as,disselfish to B**gese and Liberia.
Meanwhile Samuel Dahn cautioned B**gese not to vote the deputy house speaker of the 54th national legislature in the senatorial elections for B**g county.
He said B**gese are not ready to lose, deputy speaker position as such,Moye will not be voted comes December 8,2020.
"B**gese don't want to lose this deputy speaker job,so let Prince Moye wait for feature elections,if he has the ambition to serve as senator for B**g county"he said
Despite Dahn reactions to Dumoe statement, former fighters of Charles Taylor’s National Patriotic Front of Liberia (NPFL) in B**g County have endorsed the candidacy of Dumoe to contest the senatorial seat of B**g.
The former fighters of the Anti Terrorists Unit(ATU)who endorsed Dumoe include,Foday
Peters,ex-combatant known as General Death,Archieboy Doe and Thomas Flomo, former ex-fighter of Taylor’s NPFL among others, said their support for Dumoe is because of the loyalty he still holds for the former Liberian president.
Meanwhile Dumoe’s quest for the release of the former Liberian leader appears to be giving hope to scores of Taylor’s supporters in B**g, especially ex-fighters of both NPFL and ATU.
