ADDRESSING YOUR CONCERNS!!!
To All Gospel Music Enthusiasts,
As we approach the CELESTIAL AWARDS 2025, we want to take a moment to address a question that many of you have been asking: Why do we have separate categories for "Female Artist of the Year" and "Male Artist of the Year" without a single "Artist of the Year" category?
The reason for this decision is rooted in our commitment to celebrating the unique contributions and achievements of artists across gender lines. By recognizing male and female artists separately, we aim to:
1. Promote equality and fairness in the industry
2. Highlight the distinct talents and accomplishments of artists in each category.
3. Encourage healthy competition and excellence among artists. Remember, we are for the Gospel!
Some may wonder, "Why not have an 'Artist of the Year' category that encompasses all artists, regardless of gender?" While a single category might seem like a more streamlined approach, we believe that separate categories allow us to:
1. Give specific recognition to the achievements of female artists, who have been underrepresented in the industry.
2. Encourage and celebrate the diversity of talent within each gender category.
3. Provide a more nuanced understanding of the industry's best performers/ministers.
In essence, having both "Female Artist of the Year" and "Male Artist of the Year" categories enables us to acknowledge the exceptional contributions of artists in a way that is both inclusive and specific. We believe that this approach will lead to a more vibrant and dynamic celebration of gospel music. We strongly believe having both Male & Female Artist of the Year and still having "Artist of the Year" is absolutely not necessary. But again, we're sorry for any inconveniences it might cause youππ€.
Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to honoring the outstanding artists in our community at the CELESTIAL AWARDS 2025!
Sincerely,
Celestia Awards
