Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen of the press, esteemed partners, sponsors, artists, stakeholders, and guests.
On behalf of the entire Celestia Awards Organizing Committee, I am honored and thrilled to officially launch the 2025 edition of the Celestia Awards, Liberia’s foremost Gospel Music awards platform. This year, we march forward under the powerful and inspiring theme: “Legacy in Motion.”
Celestia Awards was birthed out of a desire to celebrate and elevate Liberian Gospel Music — to not only honor our legends, but to also spotlight rising stars and encourage unity, excellence, and purpose within the industry. In 2024, we held our inaugural edition under the theme “Back to the Future.” The event was a historic success, attracting over 30,000 public votes, more than 500 nominations, and assembling over 20 live performances from some of Liberia’s most iconic and emerging Gospel talents.
In this second edition, our mission grows even stronger. “Legacy in Motion” is more than a theme — it is a charge to preserve the heritage of Liberian Gospel Music while propelling it into a vibrant and sustainable future.
We are pleased to announce that nominations for the 2025 edition will officially open on September 1, 2025, and run through September 15, 2025. Voting runs from October 1 – 30, 2025. The voting process will follow a hybrid system, comprising 70% public votes and 30% input from a carefully selected vetting committee made up of industry professionals, spiritual leaders, and music experts. This new system is designed to ensure fairness, credibility, and a balanced reflection of both public interest and artistic merit.
This year, we have also introduced new award categories to acknowledge the depth and diversity of our industry — including recognition for musicianship (e.g. Drummers, Keyboardists, Guitarists), Media Contributors, and Christian Comedians. These additions reflect the evolving shape of Gospel creativity in Liberia.
We are also expanding our partnerships with key institutions, churches, promoters, and media platforms — and today, we are proud to reaffirm our call for sponsors, volunteers, and collaborators who share in our vision. We are grateful for those who stood with us last year, and we are excited for the new relationships being formed in this journey.
Finally, the main event is scheduled for December, 2025, and promises to be bigger, brighter, and even more impactful than the last. The main day of the event will be announced on future Press Statements. Celestia Awards is not just an event — it is a movement, and you are all part of it.
We thank you for your continued support and belief in the vision of celebrating our own, while creating platforms that inspire the next.
Thank you.
Signed:
Charles G. Kpan Jr.
