NHA MEETS WITH BARNESVILLE ESTATE LEADERSHIP OVER SOCCER PITCH PROJECT CONCERNS

Monrovia, Liberia โ€“ The National Housing Authority (NHA) held a consultative meeting with the leadership of the Barnesville Estate Old Timer Association (BOSA) regarding the Barnesville Soccer Pitch Project, an initiative being championed by Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon.

The meeting was convened in response to a formal complaint filed by a group of concerned shop owners, led by Madam Jacqueline Capehart. The complaint alleges that the fence being constructed as part of the soccer pitch project obstructs the front view of their businesses. The shop owners expressed concern that, without NHAโ€™s intervention, the project could negatively impact their commercial activities.

Following extensive deliberations, the Managing Director of the NHA, Madame Florence Geegbae , constituted a technical committee to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the site. The committee will work in collaboration with the project engineer, Mr. Robert Larty, to identify an amicable solution that addresses the concerns raised while allowing the project to proceed.

As part of the next steps, a team from the NHA, accompanied by the Technical Director, will conduct an on-site tour of the soccer pitch project.

The National Housing Authority hosts TAF Africa Global Limited CEO

Monrovia, Liberia - The management of the National Housing Authority (NHA) welcomed today Mr. Mustapha Njie, Global Managing Director of TAF Africa Global Limited, who is currently in Liberia to explore investment opportunities in the country's housing sector.

As part of his investment visit to Liberia, Mr. Njie met with President Joseph N. Boakai, Sr. at the Executive Mansion a few days ago.

In a meeting that included Madame Florence K. Geegbae, Managing of the National Housing Authority, along with the Commissioner General of the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) and the President's Special Envoy on Investment, Mr. Njie expressed enthusiasm to commence investment, stating, "My boots are already on the grounds... the president's willingness to allow his government to partner is a clear signal."-he stressed, when asked about the start of the project.

He further noted that he, along with his team, are hoping to exhaust all engagement plans with the different stakeholders (GoL's line agencies and the different banks) between now to the end of this week.

Key amongst those stakeholders is the National Housing Authority. And so, in fulfilment of his engagement plan, Mr. Njie and his delegation visited the NHA today.

During the meeting, Madame Geegbae narrated the country's urgent housing needs, emphasizing that the country's housing demand is put at 4,891 housing construction per annum, and close to 52,000 before 2030. She lamented that this is a serious issue that her Management, and the government by extension, is left to tackle.

For his part, Mr. Njie noted "it is development that brought me here to Liberia. I have received a lot of invitations to come, though I felt reluctant sometimes, but I think this is the right time that God has set for me to be here."

TAF Africa Global Limited, a leading housing provider in Nigeria, Gambia, and Sierra Leone, aims to construct 1 million homes across Africa. The company is renowned for developing green housing environments, gated communities, and modern homes".

This investment is expected to significantly boost Liberia's housing sector, particularly in areas of affordable housing, smart city development and sustainable infrastructure expansion.
