Buchanan Port To See Revenue Jump

The Port of Buchanan is expected to shortly see a major boost in income generation, ahead of the official start of ArcelorMittal Liberia’s Phase Two expansion project.
As of this month, ArcelorMittal Liberia will kick off a huge shipment of logistics for the project, through the Buchanan Port.
As part of preparations, ArcelorMittal Liberia, last week received a delegation of the technical and administrative staff of the National Port Authority (NPA), headed by the Manager of the Port of Buchanan, Civicus Barsi-Giah, at its Phase Two operation sites in Buchanan.

Former Liberian Vice President Amb. Joseph N Boakai has paid tribute to veteran Liberian journalist Philip N. Wesseh who passed on September 14, 2022 at the JFK Hospital in Sinkor, Monrovia.
Amb. Boakai in an eulogy released Thursday, September 15, 2022 said “I have learned of the death of one of LIBERIA'S finest journalists, Philip N. Wesseh, a role model in the fourth estate for many young professionals, a man who upheld professional standards and live up to the cannons of journalism throughout his career as a media practitioner.”

The former head of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) Cllr. A. Ndubuisi Nwabudike is far from obtaining his Liberian citizenship as prayed for early this year.
As per the law, LACC former boss did apply for Liberian citizenship, an application that was served on April 7, 2022.

The Plenary of the Honorable House of Representatives has cited the Chairperson of the National Elections Commission (NEC), Davidetta Browne Lansanah to address inquiries regarding the process of the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) process.
Recently, the NEC, through its Chairperson, Madam Lansanah announced that the December 15, 2022 voter registration process will be biometric, something most, including lawmakers wanting to know how the process will be.

Seeks Support For Advanced Treatment

A senior reporter at The NEWS Newspaper, James Molly Scott, suffering from a Mitral Valve prolapse heart disease is seeking assistance from philanthropists and organizations to seek surgical treatment abroad. Journalist Scott, 32, revealed that his heart disease started in 2018 when he first suffered a sudden collapse due to severe high blood pressure that left him hospitalized for several weeks.

The designated Commissioner General of the Liberia Revenue Authority, Thomas Doe Nah, has vowed to raise the country revenue to billion United States dollars if confirmed by the Liberian Senate.
Speaking Monday, August 29, 2022 before the Committee on Ways, Means and Finance, Commissioner Nah said with the qualified team of employees at LRA, his administration will ensure that the country’s national budget is increased to billion United States dollars.

Hours after a leaked audio surfaced in which the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) Gen. Prince Johnson was heard harshly speaking against Finance Minister Samuel Tweah, Defense Minister Daniel Dee Ziankahn has confirmed the authenticity of the audio.
Minister Ziankahn admitted that the voice in the audio is that of Maj. Gen. Johnson.

‘Abandoned Baby Found Dead’


Less than 24 hours of Mother’s Day celebration in Liberia, the dead body of a baby girl believed to be one week old was on Monday, May 9, 2022 discovered on Gabriel Turker’s Bridge in Monrovia.
The infant was found lying wrapped in a ‘Saba Tie Soap Bag’ believed to be dropped there by her mother.

Gongloe said injustices, favoritism, nepotism, massive and uncontrollable corruption were among several reasons for his rare sweeping of the Temple of Justice.

The National Transit Authority (NTA) headquarters along the Japanese Freeway in Gardnersville, near Monrovia was Thursday, May 5, 2022 gutted by fire, thus destroying the administrative building. The entire building was destroyed including important documents and some cash as well.

‘NEC Boss Fumbles In Court’
Struggles To Validate CPP Original Document


The National Elections Commission Boss Madam Davidetta Browne-Lansanah on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 struggled to defend that the CPP Framework Document presented to the Monrovia City Court by her was the original document filed to NEC.
On the witness stand, Madam Browne-Lansanah was quizzed by government lawyers whether it was the document for which she was being subpoena; she responded: “It is the exact document that is filed to NEC.”
