A Humble Turn: The Apology of BaBa 2switt
Magic Group CEO Mamudo Dabor popularly known as BaBa 2switt has publicly apologized to Police IG Gregory Coleman and two others following his recent outburst at law enforcement officers.
Addressing the press on a warm Tuesday morning, The CEO of Magic Group Company who is known as, BaBa 2switt retracted his statements made against Police IG Gregory Coleman, Public Works Minister Roland Giddings and Monrovia City Mayor John Siafa following the demolition of a structure built by him.
“To the Inspector General of Police, the Honorable Mayor of Monrovia, and the Ministry of Public Works I offer my sincerest apologies,” he said, voice steady but weighed with emotion. “My words in the days after the demolition were harsh, reactive, and wrong. I spoke from a place of deep fear and fury not reason.”
Months ago, the Duport Road park a private project by Magic Group CEO meant to serve as a safe space for recreational activities for children residing in Du-Port Road Community and parts adjacent was flattened in a swift government operation.
Authorities cited zoning violations, but the public outcry erupted when BaBa revealed his young son had been playing inside when the bulldozers arrived to breakdown the structure.
The CEO's social media outburst afterward was scathing and unfiltered, directed at government officials and city leaders. But today, his tone had shifted.
“I am a father first. Seeing my son pulled from rubble will haunt me forever. But that trauma doesn’t justify the words I used. It’s time for healing, not hostility,” he noted.
BaBa 2switt pledged to work in close collaboration with MCC and ministries moving forward.
“We’re all trying to build a better Monrovia. I now realize that cooperation, not confrontation, is the only path forward.”
Though there have been mixed reactions since the incident, some Liberians have lauded his humility, while others are calling for amicable solutions to have the structure rebuilt.
