A Call for Truth, Accountability, and Grace in Our Faith Community
Our community has been shaken by troubling accusations involving the City of Grace pastor. While any allegation deserves sober reflection, we must caution against rushing to conclusions without verified facts. Our Gospel-centered community thrives on truth—not hearsay.
Spreading false information, particularly in the absence of evidence, causes profound harm not only to individuals, but to the spiritual, emotional, and relational fabric of our churches. It undermines trust, damages reputations, and distorts the very message of hope we proclaim. As believers, we are called to seek justice, yes but we are also called to walk in love and wisdom.
Let us not allow gossip to become a substitute for discernment. The Scriptures remind us: “Do not spread false reports. Do not help a guilty person by being a malicious witness” (Exodus 23:1). And again, “He who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him” (Proverbs 18:13). These verses anchor us in a posture of responsibility: to listen first, confirm facts, and extend grace while pursuing accountability.
As a Gospel platform committed to spiritual growth, healing, and truth, we call on the Liberian faith community to respond with maturity. Let’s pray for clarity, unity, and restoration and ensure that our speech uplifts rather than tears down.
May this moment serve not as a scandal, but as a sober turning point. A time to reaffirm the integrity of our leadership, restore broken trust, and demonstrate the love of Christ in how we handle even the hardest truths.
The church must be a place of integrity and healing and not a courtroom of public OPIONION.
