President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has reaffirmed Liberia’s unwavering commitment to the ideals and mission of the United Nations as the organization marks its 80th anniversary under the global theme, “Better Together: 80 Years and More for Peace, Development and Human Rights.”
Speaking at the national celebration held in Margibi County, President Boakai described the occasion as a moment of pride for Liberia, recalling the nation’s historic role as a founding member of the UN in 1945. He emphasized that Liberia’s decision to sign the UN Charter in San Francisco reflected a deep sense of duty to humanity and global cooperation.
“Liberia has always been committed to the ideals of the United Nations, and we take great pride in our legacy of advancing peace, security, and human rights,” President Boakai stated.
