The U.S. Embassy near Monrovia says it welcomes the signing of a concession and access agreement between U.S. owned Ivanhoe Atlantic and the Government of Liberia.

According to a statement issued Monday , this estimated $1.8 billion deal is a crucial step towards President Boakai’s objectives of developing Liberia’s multi-user rail policy and securing new international investment.

By increasing U.S. investment in Africa, we drive mutual prosperity and support Liberia’s move from aid to trade.

On July 4, 2025, Liberia officially launched its Energy Information System (EIS)—a digital platform designed to improve how the country collects, manages, and uses energy data.

The launch event in Monrovia was attended by key national and regional stakeholders, including the Ministry of Mines and Energy and ECOWAS.

Minister Wilmot Paye hailed the EIS as a major step toward transparency, efficiency, and data-driven policymaking in the energy sector, crediting ECOWAS for its partnership.

ECOWAS Director Mr. Bayaornibè Dabiré emphasized the system's role in promoting sustainable, informed energy management.

The platform provides real-time, comprehensive data across the energy value chain—generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption—and supports renewable integration and emissions monitoring.

Sector leaders from LEC, LPRC, LERC, and NOCAL expressed full support for the initiative.

The launch represents the beginning of ongoing collaboration to ensure the EIS drives investment, improved service delivery, and sustainable energy development for all Liberians.

Please read and help if you can.. His contact is below..

“It's almost one week and I don't know how outside looks. I've been battling sickness. Took over 6 smeller drips with 6 injections. But still the same. I'm losing my voice gradually. Suffering from Globus sensation. The knot in my throat is killing me slowly. Shad is too painful. Can't even swallow easily. I can't even pronounce a letter correctly. I've started to used sign language to communicate with people around me.

And now, I'm seeing bump with pox coming all over my body.

The night cometh again where I'm so scared to close my eyes thinking it might not just open. I've spend all my little resources I had to get myself treated but it's not working. Now, I'm stock with no way out to check the clinic or high health care centers.
I've cried my eyes out, I've made some calls around to people that I know and have relationship with but to no avail. Though it's not their responsibility but I just wanna live again.

Worse part is, the knot keeps growing in my throat so strong. I am suffering at this moment health wise.

Keep me in prayers as I look to finding resources to get me to higher health care center.🙏

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr Declares July 5 as National Healing, Reconciliation, and Unity Day

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has proclaimed July 5, 2025, as National Healing, Reconciliation, and Unity Day, to be observed as a working holiday across Liberia. The day aims to honor the memory of former Presidents William R. Tolbert, Jr. and Samuel K. Doe, as well as thousands of unnamed Liberians who lost their lives during the coup d’état, civil crises, and health pandemics.

The observance is intended to promote national reflection, mourning, healing, and unity. A program, organized by the Presidential Reburial Committee, will take place at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex, with Rev. Dr. Antoine Rutayisire as keynote speaker.
