Monrovia, Montserrado County – August 10, 2025

As the rains pound Monrovia, frustration is mounting in the Chicken Soup Factory community over the incomplete road linking their neighborhood to Johnsonville. This road—currently under construction—is a lifeline for both residents and the local economy, yet its unfinished state is making daily life increasingly difficult.
The ongoing downpour has worsened the situation. Potholes, mudslides, and severe erosion now dominate the stretch, making travel dangerous and slow. Suppliers, workers, and everyday commuters are facing delays, and the impact is being felt in both production and distribution for local businesses.
Residents say the road is more than just a convenience—it’s essential for economic survival. Completion would mean smoother access to markets, better movement of goods, and a boost for small businesses that are struggling under current conditions.
Community leaders are calling on local authorities and stakeholders to make the road’s completion a priority. They argue that investing in infrastructure is investing in Liberia’s future, and leaving such projects unfinished undermines development goals.
"Our community is strong and determined," one resident told Image TV, "but without proper roads, our progress is slowed to a crawl."
The message from Chicken Soup Factory is clear: it’s time for action. The rainy season waits for no one, and residents are hoping the government will act before conditions worsen further.
