Liberia Maritime Authority has expressed regrets over what it termed as distressed Situation onboard (NIKO IVANKA).

NIKO IVANKA is a locally registered vessel that trade between Port of Monrovia and Harper which is Owned and operates by HYLAEA INC.

Addressing a press conference at the National Coast guard in Bhrusher Island on Sunday, Liberia maritime Authority's commissioner Legn Eugene Nagbeh said the vessel departed the port of Monrovia for Harper on Saturday July 17, 2021 at 0600hrs.

Commissioner Nagbeh indicated that about 6 nautical miles off the Coast of Marshall City the vessel started taking in water.

He noted that the Maritime Authority in collaboration with its partners immediately began a search and rescue operations to attend to the distressed vessel.

The vessel's passengers include its nine staffers and the nine persons of the WAEC whome were expected to administer Maryland's students exams.

Commissioner Nagbeh further explained that the vessel was in detention and was not allow to sail with passengers, stating that Maritime has rescued 11 persons in the water.

In the related development, Education Minister Professor Ansu Sonni has revealed that several consultations ongoing as to whether the WAEC will start exam tomorrow Monday or not.

According to the Minister, the consultations are in relation to the nine persons who were in the vessel.

Waec Liberia has made several adjustments in administering this year WAEC, but it is still unclear whether WAEC will adjust the timetable for this time.

As the new Covid variant's cases continue to intensify in the Country, Quality Media Incorporated (Quality News)has with immediately suspens all of its schools engagement and reduced the workforce.

The Journalism training that we carry out in Schools around Montserrado County which is intended to enhance the press club Students in the journalism field is here by suspended until otherside order.

Quality News' action is inline with the health Ministry's Protocols in combating the dangerous coronavirus in Liberia.

The institution is however asking all of its staffers to work from home with the exception of Senior reporter, Editor, chief editor and Managing editor who are allowed to work at the office with respect to health measures.

Quality News is also admonishing the general populace to wear nose masks, constantly wash their hands and observe social distance as an effort to eliminate the global pandemic.

Prof. Wilson Tarpeh clarifies that his information to the Senate on stimulus package is neither complete nor official.

Hours after receiving huge criticism for informing the Liberia Senate that 2.3 Million Vulnerable Liberians have benefited from the ongoing stimulus package distribution, the chairman on the Government’s stimulus Package committee Prof Wilson Tarpeh has summersaulted that the information he provided to the Senate is not complete neither official report.

Speaking to OK FM in Monrovia Friday April 30, 2021 Prof Wilson Tarpeh, says information provided by him to the Liberian Senate was his talking points but not an officials report.

Wilson Tarpeh indicated that he received the senate’s communication inviting him to appear before the August Body was late, as such he was unable togather all the information concerning the distribution’s process.

It can be recalled April 29, 2021 Prof. Wilson Tarpeh appeared before the senate to give update on the COVID19 stimulus package distribution where he told the senate that 2.3 Million Vulnerable Liberians have benefited from the ongoing stimulus package distribution.

Before the senate, the head of the government's stimulus package Wilson Tarpeh, lamented to the Liberian Senate that the Covid-19 household food support program distribution has reached 2.3 million vulnerable people across the country.

Prof. Wilson Tarpeh further asserted that the 2.3 million people served represent 92 percent of the total people targeted to receive food assistance through the government response to the covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking to the Senate, Prof. Tarpeh added that 5 of the 15 counties have been successfully completed, while distribution in the remaining 10 counties is expected to be completed by May 31, this year.

The steering Committee Chair also outlined to the August Body on Thursday the lack of in-country transport capacity to deliver commodities from Monrovia to the final distribution points as a major challenge facing the exercise.

Meanwhile, majority members of the Liberian Senate have rejected the committee update on the ongoing stimulus package distribution provided by Prof. Wilson Tarpeh.

Some Senators disputed that most citizens across the country are yet to benefit from the government approved 25 million.

But, Prof. Wilson Tarpeh however unveiled that he stands by his information that was delivered to the Liberian Senate on Thursday by him until the complete report is ready, adding that people who disagreed with the information to prove him otherwise wrong.

Wilson Tarpeh moreover cautioned Liberian youthful population to desist from rendering judgment on the stimulus package issue which they have not seen the official report.

LNP Invites Mike Jabateh for Questioning.

The Liberia National Police has immediately invited Mike Jabateh, a Liberian citizen for questioning in relations to a social media video footage.

LNP's Spokesman Moses Carter allegedly that Mike Jabateh threatened the life of the Chief Justice, Francis Korkpor directly.

According to the LNP, "Mr. Jabateh's invitation is aimed at understanding the intent of his statement and how such statement could endanger the life of the Chief Justice of Liberia."

LNP indicated that Mike addressed the press on behalf of sime aggrieved citizens of Ganta, Nimba County who got affected from the court's eviction ruling, Mr. Jabateh was heard indicating that if anything should happen to any member of the Mandingo ethnic group, he will personally take away the life of Chief Justice Korkpor.

Mike Jabateh statements came admits the violent in the County.

"The public can be assured that the fundamental rights of Mr. Jabateh to legal representation throughout the investigation and other Miranda rights will be duly observed while he faces questioning from LNP investigators." LNP stated on its page.

In another development, the state securities said that the calm has returned to Ganta City, Nimba County after days of violence which resulted to the burning down of a warehouse situated near the Saclepea vehicle parking by some aggrieved citizens.

" Inspector General, Hon. Patrick Sudue is currently in Ganta City speaking with local authorities and some aggrieved citizens to see reason to desist from engaging in violence." The entity disclosed.

The LNP further assures the public that all those responsible for the violent demonstration and the burning of the warehouse in Ganta City will be arrested and made to face the full weight of the law.

1- Senator Dillon supports the action to file a lawsuit against the house of Representatives.
2- UP's Mo Ali at long last expressed regret over his alleged involvement in an abortion conversation.

Montserrado County’s Senator Abraham Darious Dillon has expressed frustration over what called unconventional suspension of the Montserrado District’s #10 Lawmaker Yekeh Kolubah.

Days after serving him an official communicating of suspension, Representative Yekeh Kolubah filed a lawsuit against the August Body of the House Representative, citing lack of due process in his suspension.

The Justice in Chambers of the Supreme Court of Liberia, associate Justice Joseph Nagbe called on both the House of Representative and Lawmaker Kolubah to a conference on Thursday 22, 2021.

Senator Dillon indicated that the CPP will take a political action if the Supreme Court of Liberia fails to address Representative Yekeh Kolubah’s issue in accordance with Liberian laws most especially the mother's law of the Land.

Abraham Darious Dillon maintained his previous statement on his page that CCP’s Lawmaker Kolubah has been illegally suspended in the House of Representative.

On Tuesday, April 12, this year the House of Representatives finally suspended Rep. Kolubah for what allegedly insulting President George M. Weah.

Montserrado County's District #5 Lawmaker, a member of the governing CDC and Chairman of the house's committee on ways, means and Finance, filed official complain to the plenary to look into the Lawmaker Kolubah unconfirmed insult to the President.

On March 25, during the 21st day sitting, plenary took a decision to suspend Representative Yekeh Kolubah in accordance with its 47.8 of the House's standing rule which gives the right to plenary to take such action against one of its members.

But, a motion of reconsideration was filed by Montserrado District #8 Representative Moses Acarous Gray, such motion delayed legislator Kolubah's suspension. Under the house's rule, a motion for reconsideration must be tried and tested after three working sessions, inclusive of the day of the filing of such motion.

However, the rule mandates the Movants of a motion for reconsideration must file a written communication to the office of the chief clerk challenging the suspension within the time allotted for the motion to be tried and tested on the floor. But Representative Gray, the movant in this case, failed to meet up with the set requirement for the motion of reconsideration.

In reaction against Senator Dillon's assertion, Representative Moses Acarous Gray revealed that the House of Representatives had suspended Kolubah in accordance with House’s Standing rule 47.8 C in the House.

He further reiterated his argument that Representative Kolubah remains suspended and not to be seen at the perimeter of the House of Representatives.

2- Unity Party's Secretary General Mo Ali has expressed regret over the incident between him and OK FM's female intern reporter Augustina Gray.

Mo Ali indicated that "as a political/public figure, I am fully aware that the public holds me at a very different and high moral standard and expects that my behavior, public engagements and dealings would always serve as a good example for the upcoming generation"

"I am also aware of the gravity of any action and statements that I made either in the public space or even in my private life. It is in this vein that I take full responsibility of the incident involving Ms. Augustina Gray." He stated.

UP's Mo Ali revealed that he has met with Augustina's family and had a very good discussion.

In the release posted on his page on Monday April 19, 2021 Mr. Mo Ali maintained that It was not his intention to cause harm to anyone or to exhibit an attitude that disrespects the daughters, sisters or mothers. As a father of three girls.

"I respect womanhood and know the importance of protecting women. I truly regret the embarrassment that this has caused my children, loved ones, friends, supporters, and the Unity Party." Mo Ali expressed.

Recently, Mo Ali was heard in a leaked audio appealing to Augustina Gray to abort her pregnancy, furthering to disown the pregnancy if Ms Gray fails to carry out an abortion.

At the same time Ali recommitted helping to protect the image of his family and political institution.

He moreover called on his supporters and others to address the issue with a high level of respect for everyone’s privacy, and also called on the public to refrain from the trading of accusations and attacks against all involved.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ali Gray vowed to taking his leave of absence for the rest of April 2021 in order to enable him fully recover from the shocks.
