11 persons have been rescued from the sank vessel in Liberia.

Liberia Maritime Authority has expressed regrets over what it termed as distressed Situation onboard (NIKO IVANKA).
NIKO IVANKA is a locally registered vessel that trade between Port of Monrovia and Harper which is Owned and operates by HYLAEA INC.
Addressing a press conference at the National Coast guard in Bhrusher Island on Sunday, Liberia maritime Authority's commissioner Legn Eugene Nagbeh said the vessel departed the port of Monrovia for Harper on Saturday July 17, 2021 at 0600hrs.
Commissioner Nagbeh indicated that about 6 nautical miles off the Coast of Marshall City the vessel started taking in water.
He noted that the Maritime Authority in collaboration with its partners immediately began a search and rescue operations to attend to the distressed vessel.
The vessel's passengers include its nine staffers and the nine persons of the WAEC whome were expected to administer Maryland's students exams.
Commissioner Nagbeh further explained that the vessel was in detention and was not allow to sail with passengers, stating that Maritime has rescued 11 persons in the water.
In the related development, Education Minister Professor Ansu Sonni has revealed that several consultations ongoing as to whether the WAEC will start exam tomorrow Monday or not.
According to the Minister, the consultations are in relation to the nine persons who were in the vessel.
Waec Liberia has made several adjustments in administering this year WAEC, but it is still unclear whether WAEC will adjust the timetable for this time.
