Zambia's Vice President, Mutale Nalumango, and seven other passengers escaped unharmed after a military helicopter crashed shortly after take-off from a campaign rally in Nakonde, near the Tanzania border. According to Zambian officials, all eight people on board survived the incident without injuries. Nalumango said the helicopter went down moments after leaving the ground. Although the aircraft was reportedly severely damaged, everyone onboard was safely evacuated. The vice president later underwent a precautionary medical examination and was discharged in good health. Authorities have announced that an investigation will be launched to establish the cause of the crash.
