Yesterday SPAL officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Liberia National Students' Union (LINSU), focusing on key collaborative student press activities.

The Memorandum of Understanding aimed at promoting student journalism and media development, promoting freedom of information, expression and participation in schools across Liberia.

SPAL academically believes the partnership will empower student journalists to capacitate their reading, writing speaking and listening skills.

Press club is the most important extra curriculum school activity that academically boosts student's ability in the four skills and eliminate barriers such as phobia, shyness and silence.

Speaking at the ceremony in oldest Congo's Town, our Executive Director, Mr. Sacatirus B. Kangar described the partnership as a great opportunity for LINSU and SPAL to enhance the freedom of press, information, expression and participation in schools across Liberia.

LINSU commits to providing a platform and services where student journalists will be empowered to responsibly shape national discourse and provide capacity building for students who are venturing into high school journalism.

Our Executive Director applauded thanks and appreciation to the president of LINSU describing the partnership as a great opportunity for LINSU and SPAL.

At the signing ceremony that was held at LINSU's office were six high school press clubs with total number of 15 campus reporters invited by SPAL to witness the ceremony in Congo's Town.

Among those Schools were, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran High School, Pottal International Islamic School, Kingdom Life Foundation, Christian Bible Faith Mission High School, Mount Carmel Institute and Charles J.S. Young Memorial School System Assembly of God.

Under the MoU proposed and signed, SPAL and LINSU have agreed to work in the five (6) key priority areas which are as followed.

1. Intensive Press and Media Training - A training to Journalistically develop students capacity in reporting on and from their various campuses.

2. Media Empowerment - Though SPAL is now running a live radio program called "Students Press Hour" but SPAL intends engaging more radio stations in other parts of Montserrado and the country at large with LINSU's support

3. Annual Students Press Summit - A platform created for campus reporters or student journalists to meet media experts, veteran journalists, policymakers, national leaders where knowledge will be shared, impact will be made, student journalists will network and showcase their talents and skills.

4. Opportunities for Student Journalists - An opportunities where student journalists will be empowered and transformed to passionately achieve their goal with full potential and respect. Such opportunities involve scholarship, internship, employment, travelling, workshops and etc.

5. Expansion of the SPAL - To support and link SPAL with local branches of students union under LINSU in counties SPAL doesn't have a chapter or branch.

6. Membership on LINSU's Board - To have a representative who will speak for and on behave of the student press community in Liberia.

This MoU signing ceremony marks a historical moment and an exciting milestone in our shared commitment to empowering student voices and promoting media excellence in schools across Liberia.

We look forward to working closely with LINSU to implement joint initiatives and programs that benefit student journalists and the broader community.

Congratulations to both SPAL and LINSU on this partnership! We look forward to working with LINSU to achieve our shared goals and make a positive impact in the community."

Both organizations expressed optimism that the partnership will open new opportunities for press training and media engagement.

The MoU is expected to serve as a framework for long terms cooperation between SPAL and LINSU.

Congratulations to Free Pentecostal Global Mission School System for their news presentation. This is a real change and demonstration of impact. When a visionary is somewhere the light shines through him. Leader without impact is not a leader but looter.

Amos De Anointed Challay Jr is the press coordinator who gives light. He is impactful and stagnated to improving his children through press related activities on campus.

If it wasn't Amos De Anointed Challay Jr. by now no active or effective press club, if also it wasn't De Anointed Challay Jr by now no connection with SPAL this academic year.

With their strong relationship with us, surely they will reach their full potential with respect.

SPAL continues support to the TEAM

A great and impactful meeting held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran High School by the Students Press Association Of Liberia marking it the second general school press club meeting of the year.

As school press clubs gathered for an important meeting and presented the challenges, developments and shared with us their recommendations, in total we have seven (7) High School Press Clubs present and in person we have 35 campus reporters attending the meeting today.

During the meeting scoles of schools and students Leader were in attendance to discuss the growth and development of school press clubs across Montserrado County.

At St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran High School, we have the total number of seven (7) High School Press Clubs resulting to the total number of 35 campus reporters representing their various school press.

The great and impactful meeting held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran High School today was graced by the president of the Liberia National Students' Union-LINSU, Mr. James Gbelee Washington who came to listen to the voices that are challenged in the press activities across schools in Montserrado County.

He didn't just listen to their challenges, requests and recommendations from various press clubs but he also emphasize on the importance of networking, building minds and assured them that through SPAL a comprehensive training press training session will be conducted for all campus reporters in various High Schools across Montserrado County sooner or later.

He also motivated and inspired them and however share fun that opens up the minds of students to freely speak out their minds at the meeting.

Making a great change, a student of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran High School who was totally silent throughout the meeting broke silence saying "Sir, why did you ask everyone for their names but you didn't ask for mine"? Serena S. Sellya breaks silence.

This was just more than a change and a level of making impact in the life our students who are just shy among others.

We got admired by their experiences and excellent reading and speaking skills demonstrated today during their presentations.

Our Executive Director Mr. Sacatirus B. Kangar and his staff well coordinated the session today dividing the body into three separate groups for group discussion where students were able to network today.

Thanks to the press coordinators who followed their students today from Gardnerville and Down GSA Road. Imagine Free Pentecostal Global Mission School System today putting in an excuse to attend the meeting today signaled commitment and ambition.

We say a very big thanks to our host for providing the refreshment for everyone who attended today.

We are meant and established for this purpose of today's event and together we must achieve what we stand for.

Our motto remains "Making Them To Know"
