WAR AGAINST DRUGS – Ganta Business Association Donates Two Motorbikes to LDEA
As the nationwide fight against narcotic drugs gains momentum, the Ganta Business Association has donated two brand-new TVS Star motorbikes to the Ganta Detail of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA).
The donation comes just days after citizens of Ganta staged a day-long anti-drug march through the city.
The motorbikes were formally presented to the LDEA by Hon. Samuel S. Hardt, Mayor of Ganta, and Mr. Prince Haward, Acting Chairman of the Ganta Business Association.
In separate remarks, both leaders emphasized that the gesture is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the operations of the LDEA in combating narcotics. They noted that the donation demonstrates how committed the business community and citizens are to eradicating drugs from Ganta and nearby communities.
They urged the LDEA to use the motorbikes strictly for operational purposes and ensure proper maintenance. They also called on other stakeholders and institutions across the county to join hands in supporting security agencies as the anti-drug campaign intensifies.
Receiving the donation, Special Agent Madison Gaylah, Acting County Commander of the LDEA, expressed gratitude to the Mayor, the business community, and the citizens for their support. He described the gesture as a major relief, noting that mobility has long been a serious challenge for the agency.
“The donation is like taking a heavy load off the head of someone who has walked a long distance,” he said, while assuring residents that the LDEA remains fully committed to the fight against drugs. He also welcomed the unprecedented involvement of citizens, stressing that “fighting narcotics isn’t just the LDEA’s business alone.”
The donation ceremony was held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the LDEA Ganta Headquarters, Camp Tension. The two motorbikes, valued at US$2,000, are expected to significantly boost the agency’s operational capacity.
