"When I made my first million dollars from music, I was so excited that I spent it quickly. The first thing I bought was a studio, so if all else failed, I could always write and produce records for other artists.

I spent about $250,000 on that studio equipment. Then I gave my mom $150,000, my dad $150,000, and I gave all my brothers about $25,000 to start businesses.

When my girlfriend at the time found out, she asked me for $200,000. I just laughed and gave her $5,000 because I can never give a woman more than 2% of my total money. She broke up with me then, but I wasn't upset because I realized she only wanted Money, not me.

The truth is, if you want to stay rich as a man, you have to be very stingy with these ladies. Akon said in a recent interview.

President Mustapha Raji Caught In Alleged Intimidation of Stakeholders.

This outlet has uncovered an alleged huge bribery scandal reportedly led by the President of the Liberia Football Association Mr. Mustapha I. Raji who is reportedly dishing out 1,000.00 USD each to stakeholders to withdraw their signatures from the proposal led by 25 stakeholders to call for an Extraordinary Congress inorder to review some ambiguity in the LFA statute .

Information under our domain suggest that over 15 clubs have been contacted in a failed attempt to hijack the call for extraordinary Congress by well meaning stakeholders. One of those clubs who received the 1,000 USD.

Speaking on anonymity lamented that Mr. Raji allegedly spoke with him and informed him that the stakeholders called for an extraordinary congress is misplaced and not necessary at this time .

It can be recalled that a few days ago over 24 clubs signed a joint communique to call for an extraordinary Congress to review some clauses in the LFA statute.

Those clubs believed that there are a lot of ambiguous clauses in the statute that doesn't confine to modern day development of football .

Among those proposals are the call for the reduction of the Presidential , Vice President and EC terms of office from three terms to two term , Article 45.4 & 58.1 that talks about Eligibility requirements, reintegration, and qualification standard, Membership rights and Improved voting integrity at Congress among others.

Mr. Raji who has been President of the LFA for the past eight years and seeking a third term is becoming unpopular among stakeholders who have expressed disappointment in what they termed as "greediness and dictatorship " on the part of Mr. Raji as he seeks a third term and 12 years in office.

Bribery under the FIFA Code of ethics is prohibited and the FIFA Code of Ethics states that officials "may not accept bribes" and are also "forbidden from bribing third parties" to gain an advantage.

Bribes are defined as "any gifts or other advantages that are offered, promised or sent to them to incite breach of duty or dishonest conduct".

If this latest news coming out of the Raji's camp is something to go by then the LFA President will definitely be violating the FIFA Code of Ethics and undermining what his supporters considered him as an "integrity icon " in football .

Effort to get the LFA response have all proved futile as the communication Manager Mr. Koikoi has declined to comment, stating he hasn't been authorized to comment on what he considers as rumors.

Today marks a historic and inspiring milestone in the rich and enduring journey of the Republic of Liberia, the resumption of our rightful and long-awaited place on the United Nations Security Council as a Non-Permanent Member for the 2026โ€“2027 term.

On behalf of the 55th Legislature of the Republic of Liberia, and with profound gratitude to the people of this great Republic, I extend heartfelt congratulations to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., Her Excellency Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Liberian diplomatic corps, and to every Liberian whose faith, resilience, and unwavering belief in our nationโ€™s mission contributed to this remarkable achievement.

Liberiaโ€™s election to the Security Council is more than a diplomatic victory it is a defining affirmation of our nationโ€™s commitment to peace, security, multilateral cooperation, and principled leadership in global affairs. We celebrate this moment not merely as an honor, but as a call to service and responsibility.

Our return to the Security Council reflects the progress Liberia has made from years of conflict and recovery to democratic stability and international engagement. It acknowledges the collective efforts of Liberians at home and abroad who have demonstrated resilience, unity, and a steadfast dedication to the ideals of justice and human dignity.

As Liberia assumes its seat on the Council, the Legislature reiterates its unwavering support for the Executive Branch and our diplomatic representatives. We pledge to work collaboratively with all arms of government to ensure Liberiaโ€™s contributions to the Security Council are constructive, credible, and reflective of the aspirations of the Liberian people especially in areas that affect Africa, the Global South, and vulnerable communities around the world.

The House of Representatives, under my leadership, stands ready to assist in advancing Liberiaโ€™s agenda on the Security Council, including initiatives that promote conflict prevention, peacebuilding, the protection of civilians, and a strengthened multilateral system anchored in justice and equality.

To all Liberians, at home and in our global diaspora, let us carry forward this moment with pride, humility, and a renewed spirit of service. May our presence at the United Nations Security Council be a testament to Liberiaโ€™s enduring commitment to peace, progress, and shared humanity.

Hon. Richard Nagbe Koon
Speaker of the House of Representatives of Liberia

Breaking News -Lone Star Ascends: Liberia Joins UN Security Council with Historic Presenceโ€

At the United Nations headquarters, five newly elected countriesโ€”Bahrain, Colombia, DR Congo, Latvia, and Liberiaโ€”gather for the ceremonial raising of their flags as they join the UN Security Council for 2026โ€“2027.

Among them, Liberiaโ€™s moment stands out. A young Liberian diplomat carries the Lone Star flag with pride, symbolizing the nationโ€™s resilience and rise to global leadership. As the flag is raised, the crowd senses the significance: Liberia is stepping onto the world stage not as a recovering nation, but as a confident contributor to international peace and security.

When the ceremony ends, all five flags wave together, but Liberiaโ€™s shines with a special brightnessโ€”marking a new chapter for the country and signaling that the world is watching its ascent.

PAP Condemns CDC Political Leader George Weahโ€™s Disparaging Remarks Against Senator Saah H. Joseph

January 2, 2025, Monrovia, Liberia: The Proposed People's Action Party (PAP) has strongly denounced the disparaging statement made by Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) political leader and former President George Weah, who labeled Senator Saah H. Joseph as a "street child and refugee boy" prior to his involvement with the CDC.

This depiction contradicts the facts surrounding Senator Joseph's background. Before aligning with the CDC, Senator Saah H. Joseph served as the Country Director of Plan International, a humanitarian aid organization.

In this role, he not only managed operations in Liberia but also presided over his institution's programs in Sierra Leone, where he played a key role in constructing twenty schools in communities deeply impacted by civil conflict.

It is noteworthy that former President George Weah first met Senator Joseph in Sierra Leone while he was executing his professional duties with the humanitarian organization.

Ambassador Weah encouraged Senator Joseph to bring the impactful services he was providing in Sierra Leone to Liberia. In response, Honorable Joseph successfully persuaded his partners to allocate funding to support initiatives in Liberia.

Upon returning, he established three schools in the country, all of which have been operating tuition-free for the past eighteen years. These schools were constructed prior to his entering the legislature and were not part of any legislative achievements.

Hon. Saah Joseph has long demonstrated a commitment to the health sector, providing millions of dollars' worth of medical supplies at no cost both before and after securing his seat in the legislature.
It is disheartening that President Weah has chosen to portray Hon. Joseph in such a negative light. We firmly believe that politics should never discourage us from being truthful, especially when the evidence is clear and undeniable.

Hon. Joseph's notable sacrifices during the Ebola crisis, alongside his team, were instrumental in safeguarding countless lives. It is remarkable that someone who is described as a street child or refugee rose to the occasion and served the nation so valiantly in one of its most critical moments.

The recent characterization of the political leader of the proposed People's Action Party is not only misleading but also lacks gratitude.

The People's Action Party unequivocally condemns the disrespect shown to Senator Saah Joseph and calls on opposition political parties to uphold professionalism.

By doing so, we can work together to preserve and enhance the democratic progress our country has achieved over the years.
Hon. Saah Joseph has consistently shown commitment to the health sector, providing millions of dollars' worth of medical supplies at no cost both before and after securing his legislative seat.

It is disheartening that President Weah has chosen to portray Hon. Joseph in such a negative light. We firmly believe that politics should never discourage us from being truthful, especially when the evidence is clear and undeniable.

Hon. Joseph's significant contributions to advancing key sectors such as health and education in Liberia remain steadfast.

His dedication to the country's progress will endure, unaffected by any unwarranted or insensitive criticism.

For Immediate Release!!

Alphia Faith Kemokai Clarifies Resignation from Presidentโ€™s National Youth Advisory Board.

"Following the recent public announcement of my resignation from the National Youth Advisory Council to the President of Liberia, there has been public interest and commentary. I believe it is important to offer clarity calmly, honestly, and with respect.

For the record, I was appointed to the National Youth Advisory Council to His Excellency Joseph N. Boakai, Sr., President of the Republic of Liberia, on October 11, 2024, and I formally submitted my resignation in October 2025. My resignation was not reactive. It was a considered decision made in good faith and with intention. To ensure continuity and a smooth transition, my resignation took effect on December 31, 2025, allowing sufficient time for the appointment of a suitable replacement and the uninterrupted work of the Council.

I accepted the appointment wholeheartedly and with a deep sense of responsibility, and I equally resigned wholeheartedly, guided by my personal values and long standing commitment to meaningful youth participation.

The National Youth Advisory Council represents an important step toward addressing the representation gap of young people at high level decision making tables. Efforts to create space for youth voices in governance are necessary and should be strengthened. I remain grateful to the President and all stakeholders who made the establishment of the Council possible.

Currently, I serve as the Program Manager of the Young Political Leadership School Africa, a leadership, elections, and governance training program. I work across politics, governance, and leadership development, engaging young people both within and outside Liberia. This work requires collaboration across diverse political contexts and perspectives. In that regard, I wish to clearly state that I am not a member of any political party, nor have I ever been. My professional engagement cuts across political lines, including CDC, UP, CMC, ANC, LP, and others in Liberia, as well as with actors beyond its borders. As a youth development practitioner, neutrality, integrity, and trust are central to my work. If I ever decide to engage in partisan politics, it will be done openly and transparently, not from behind civil society.

I am also aware of false claims that linked my resignation to political party influence. These allegations were unfounded, addressed through legal means, and have since been retracted with an apology. I appreciate responsible journalism and the many voices that stood for truth and fairness.

My resignation should not be read as a rejection of youth engagement in governance, nor as hostility toward the Council or any institution. Leadership also means knowing when to step aside and allow others to contribute. In a region where power is often held too tightly and for too long, I take pride in embracing both service and transition.

I have had the experience of advocating for young people within government and from outside government, and those lessons will shape my continued work. My commitment to youth development, civic engagement, and democratic participation remains firm.

A Note of Gratitude

I would like to sincerely thank the many people who have spoken up, reached out, and stood in support of the work I do. I have seen your messages, comments, and thoughtful reflections, and I do not take them lightly.

An enabling environment, one where young leaders are supported, believed in, and allowed to grow, is essential for leadership development. To everyone who chose encouragement over speculation and principle over noise, thank you. Your solidarity matters.

I congratulate the new member of the National Youth Advisory Council and wish her wisdom and courage in her service.

As we step into a new year, I wish everyone peace, purpose, and continued commitment to building a better future for our country and our young people. Happy New Year"

FA President Owning Club Raises Conflict of Interest Concerns โ€“
Sports Editor Sylvester Tamba says.

OKFM Sports Desk Editor Sylvester Tamba says while no FIFA law explicitly forbids a Football Association President from owning a club, such arrangements are heavily restricted due to conflict of interest concerns.

โ€œThere is no absolute law that says a football president cannot own a club,โ€ Tamba explained. โ€œBut FIFA rules strongly discourage it because it creates serious conflict of interest issues.โ€

Tamba noted that under FIFA Statutes, the FIFA Code of Ethics, and Governance Regulations, football officials are required to avoid situations where personal or financial interests could influence official decisions.

โ€œAn FA president has influence over referees, disciplinary bodies, competition rules, and club licensing,โ€ he said. โ€œIf that same person owns a club, the integrity of the competition is automatically questioned.โ€

He stressed that FIFA places high value on neutrality and independence in football governance.

โ€œFootball administration must be impartial,โ€ Tamba added. โ€œOnce the president owns a club, public trust in fair play, officiating, and decision-making is undermined.โ€

According to him, while such ownership may not be illegal on paper, FIFA can impose sanctions if it determines that a conflict of interest has compromised the game.

โ€œIn football governance, perception matters as much as legality,โ€ Tamba concluded. โ€œAnd FIFA takes conflict of interest very seriously.โ€

The OKFM analysis references the leaked documents alleging that LFA President Mustapha Raji owns 80 percent of District 17 Academy FC, a situation that directly contradicts FIFAโ€™s conflict of interest principles, which strongly restrict football association presidents from owning clubs due to the risk of compromised neutrality, governance independence, and fair competition.
