ARTIST'S PROFILE: Jackie Russ
Alex Nyenga (born May 14, 1990), professionally known as Jackie Russ, is a Liberian artist, producer and music video director. He is the founder and CEO of Massive Media Concepts, a production company that is specialized in sound production, film and video.
EDUCATION:
Jackie Russ completed his secondary education at the St. Matthew United Methodist School in 2006 and graduated from the International Institute of Computer Studies and Manpower Development (IICS/MPD) where he earned two diplomas in computer science and computer engineering in 2009.
CAREER:
Jackie started his entertainment career in 2007 as a music producer. In the early part of his music producing career, his bedroom was used as his studio.
He Started a media production company in 2008, Massive Media Concepts, and has made tremendous impacts in the industry
He started his cinematographer career in 2013. He has since worked with several top Liberian artists including Cralorboi CIC, Stunna, PCK & L Frankie, Faithvonic, MC Caro, Soul Fresh, JZyNo and Christoph The Change, his younger brother. He has since produced over 600 songs and over 120 music videos for several artists. Like many music producers, he ventured into singing. He has over 40 songs including his debut album, Magic SZN which was released in 2020. His debut album consists of 22 songs.
ACHIEVEMENT:
Jackie Russ has won so many awards in Liberia including Video Director of The Year at the 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 Liberia Music Awards And Tunes Liberia Awards respectively. In 2020, his album, 'Magic SZN' was nominated for Album Of The Year.
In 2024, Jackie Russ won 'Best Video Director Of The Year' at the Music Video Africa Awards.
He has also been nominated for several other international awards.
He is been chosen as the Brand Ambassador for ZIKOMO Africa Awards.
