NOCAL Executive Team Visits LADOL in Nigeria to Advance Plans for Buchanan Shorebase

Lagos, Nigeria — In a strategic move to advance Liberia’s offshore oil ambitions, a high-level delegation from the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) visited the Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base (LADOL) in Nigeria. The visit, led by NOCAL’s Acting President and CEO, along with Director King—Board Member and Chair of the Corporate Subcommittee—marks a major milestone in the company’s plans to develop a state-of-the-art shorebase near Buchanan.

Joining the delegation were the Vice President for Finance and Investment, the Project Procurement Officer, and the Director of Exploration and Data Management. The tour was aimed at studying LADOL’s world-class operations and infrastructure to inform the design and implementation of a similar facility in Liberia.

“With growing interest in Liberia’s offshore oil sector, our Buchanan shorebase initiative is both timely and strategic,” said NOCAL’s Acting CEO. “This facility will be the backbone of exploration logistics and will help attract international operators to our waters.”

The Buchanan shorebase will offer a full range of services including equipment maintenance, logistics and inventory management, fuel and chemical handling, waste disposal, and offshore communications support. It will also provide vital procurement and supply chain solutions to oil companies operating in Liberian territory.

The LADOL visit is expected to shape NOCAL’s approach to infrastructure development and ensure the Buchanan shorebase aligns with global standards and industry best practices. As NOCAL moves forward, this project remains central to boosting Liberia’s oil sector, creating jobs, and fostering sustainable growth.

Ghanaian music sensation Lasmid recently shared a striking photo of himself posing beside a poster of the late American rap legend, Tupac Shakur, inside his home. The image has sparked buzz on social media, with fans quickly pointing out an interesting resemblance between the two artists. Lasmid’s confident pose, facial expression, and overall vibe in the photo have drawn comparisons to Tupac’s iconic look and charismatic presence.

While Tupac remains a timeless symbol of revolutionary music and street poetry, Lasmid continues to rise as one of Ghana’s most promising young talents, blending Afrobeat, highlife, and hip-hop influences in his sound. The visual connection between the two in this photo has many fans commenting on Lasmid’s bold style and presence, with some even suggesting that he may be channeling the spirit of Tupac through his music and image.

Whether the resemblance was intentional or purely coincidental, one thing is clear: Lasmid’s nod to Tupac highlights the global influence of the late rapper and how his legacy continues to inspire a new generation of artists across continents. So, what do you think? Is the resemblance just in our heads — or is there really something there?
