Government Set to Receive 62-Seater Buses to Boost Public Transport

By: Muhammed M. Kemokai

The National Transit Authority (NTA) has received seven out of 35 newly procured 62-seater buses, part of a total fleet of 60 vehicles being supplied under a contractual agreement with ABK Motors Incorporated. Due to time constraints, the remaining buses are yet to be cleared from the National Port Authority. The seven that were received are currently stationed at ABK Motors, awaiting servicing before official turnover to the government.

In an interview, ABK Motors’ Head of Sales, Blamo Tweh, confirmed that the company encountered no challenges during the procurement process. Meanwhile, a Liberian citizen, West Redd, commended the government’s effort to strengthen public transportation and expressed optimism that President Joseph N. Boakai’s developmental initiatives will secure him reelection in 2029.

STAND Blasts “Compromised” Church Leaders, Threatens Boycott of Justice Ministry Meeting

By: Muhammed M. Kemokai

The Solidarity and Trust for a New Day (STAND) says it will boycott the Ministry of Justice’s planned security roundtable ahead of the December 17 “Lead or Leave” protest if leaders of the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) are included.

While confirming receipt of the ministry’s invitation and pledging commitment to peaceful coordination, STAND condemned the current LCC leadership as “compromised regime collaborators” who have lost moral authority through silence, bias, and unethical political ties.

The group reaffirmed its dedication to nonviolent democratic advocacy and demanded integrity and neutrality in all engagements as Liberians prepare to demand accountability and justice.

“Lead or Leave – Enough is Enough. No Retreat, No Surrender.”
