Independence Day Message from the Mayor of Pleebo City

Fellow Citizens,

On behalf of the Pleebo City Corporation, I extend heartfelt wishes of peace, unity, and prosperity to all Liberians, and especially to the resilient and peace-loving people of Pleebo City, as we proudly celebrate the 178th Independence Anniversary of our beloved nation.

This day is more than just a public holiday—it is a powerful reminder of our shared history, our long journey toward freedom, and the values that continue to bind us together as one people. As we reflect on the sacrifices of our forefathers who laid the foundation for this great nation, let us also recommit ourselves to building a better Liberia—one that is inclusive, just, and full of opportunity for all.

Pleebo City remains a shining example of unity in diversity. We have come a long way, and our collective efforts toward peace, development, and good governance are gradually transforming our communities. I urge every citizen to use this moment to renew their sense of patriotism and civic responsibility. Let us celebrate not only with joy but with purpose, knowing that the future of Liberia lies in our hands.

As Mayor of Pleebo, I reaffirm my commitment to working tirelessly with all stakeholders to promote growth, security, and the well-being of every resident. Together, we can overcome challenges and create a city—and a country—that reflects the true spirit of independence.

Happy 178th Independence Day, Liberia!
May God continue to bless our land and guide us in unity and peace.

Hon. Larry G. Geekor
Mayor, Pleebo City Corporation

The Police officer needs Justice.
We agreed on a recent report about the most corrupt entities in Liberia captured the Liberia National Police but on the brutality against the Fulani lady and the Police officer.

Nothing happened the officer acted professional.

Congratulations to Representative Austin B. Taylor for securing a stipend for volunteer teachers in Barrobo and Karluway Districts. However, we recommend that you use your office to advocate for the government to place these volunteer teachers on the payroll, rather than personally giving them 1,500 LD — an amount that isn't even close to buy a 25kg bag of rice.

23/07/2025

Representative Austin B. Taylor we hope this post finds you well.
You promised to give your salary to the People of District #3 Maryland County, where are we on the political promise?

OFFICIAL STATEMENT
By H.E. George Manneh Weah
Former President, Republic of Liberia

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Monrovia, Liberia
July 17, 2025

I wish to commend the ongoing efforts of all Liberians who continue to exercise their constitutional right to peaceful assembly and protest. In every functioning democracy, the voices of the people must be heard—and heard clearly. Every organized protest that reflects the will of the people deserves respect, protection, and attention, not intimidation, sabotage, or dismissal by the Boakai government.

Let it be known that the success of any protest is not measured by who is absent or present, but by the collective commitment of the people to speak truth to power. We are all members of various coalitions and political affiliations, but above all, we are citizens of the Republic of Liberia—a sovereign people with inviolable rights.

To the leadership of STAND headed by Mulbah Morlu and all those who continue to stand up in the wake of the Boakai government's bad governance and call for justice, accountability, and good governance, I salute your courage and resolve. Remain peaceful, remain principled, and do not lose focus. Liberia is—and must always remain—bigger than any one person, group, or political party.

Let us all stand firm in the truth:

Liberia First. Liberia Foremost. Liberia Always.

Never surrender your right to be heard. Stand up for your rights. Stand up for Liberia.

God bless Liberia

GEORGE MANNEH WEAH, Sr.
Former President of the Republic of Liberia
