๐Ÿšจ BREAKING:

YEALA WOMENโ€™S HOUSE SET FOR OFFICIAL OPENING! ๐Ÿšจ

The people of Yeala are set to officially celebrate the opening of the Yeala Womenโ€™s House on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
With feeding substantially taken care of through the support of community members, friends, and well-wishers, the major remaining need is transportation, especially for people coming from far communities, along with a few final arrangements.
The organizing team is now hoping to raise approximately L$150,000 before Saturday to cover these needs.
Every contribution counts โ€” L$100, L$500, L$1,000 or more. When many people give what they can, it can make a big difference.
โค๏ธ If you can support, please do. If you cannot contribute financially, sharing this message can also help.
Let us see what we can do together for the people of Yeala!
๐Ÿ“… Official Opening: Saturday, August 22, 2026

Young people from Fissebu and Zelemai towns in Zorzor Administrative District, Lofa County, have honored Mr. James Papy Kwabo for his service to education, youth development, community development, and humanitarian support.

The appreciation program was held on May 14, 2026, in Fissebu Town. It brought together elders, chiefs, youth leaders, students, first-time voters, community members, and guests from Zelemai.

During the ceremony, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Mr. Kwabo in recognition of his support to students, families, and communities across Zorzor, Salayea, Fissebu, Zelemai, and other parts of Lofa County.

Reading the position statement on behalf of the group, Mulbah Flomo said the honor was their way of appreciating Mr. Kwabo for supporting students, standing with young people, helping communities, and using his experience to create opportunities for others.

The group highlighted his contributions to education, including scholarships, tuition aid, WAEC support, mentorship, and assistance to students at different levels. It also recognized his role in establishing Alternative Youth Radio, the AYR media complex, and the ongoing School of Journalism and Vocational Education in Zorzor.

The young people also cited his past community development work with the International Rescue Committee, his volunteer service at Radio Life, his work as a volunteer teacher at Zorzor Central High School, his role as co-founder of Youth Talk-Liberia, and his service during the Ebola and COVID-19 responses.

They further acknowledged his work as a lecturer at Lofa County University, his participation in the Liberia-Colombia Youth Exchange Program, the Youth Assembly in New York, and the Mandela Washington Fellowship, as well as his recognition as winner of the 2024 MTN Hero of Change Award.

Mr. Kwabo received the recognition with humility and thanked the young people, elders, chiefs, students, first-time voters, and community members for the honor.

He described the recognition as an encouragement to continue supporting students, young people, families, and communities.

Mr. Kwabo encouraged young people to take education seriously, stay away from harmful behavior, use their voices wisely, and help others when they get the opportunity.

The program ended with a friendly football match between Fissebu and Zelemai at the Fissebu football pitch. The match ended 1-1.

His team says the recognition reflects the growing appreciation of young people for service rooted in education, mentorship, unity, and community development.
