🎉🎉 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲 🎉🎉
In solidarity with all humanitarian workers across the world, we joined in the commemoration of World Humanitarian Day yesterday. We recognize the tremendous, selfless efforts of those serving in humanitarian spaces, whose courage and compassion save lives and provide hope to countless people in dire need across the globe.
This year’s theme, "𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲," calls attention to the critical need for greater support and solidarity for humanitarian workers. These brave individuals, often working in extreme conditions, tirelessly provide aid, relief, and comfort to those affected by crises, conflict, and disasters. They stand on the frontlines, offering a lifeline to the most vulnerable. We honor their unwavering dedication and remain committed to advocating for the support they rightfully deserve.
As we stand in unity with humanitarian workers, we also celebrate the meaningful contributions all the women and young women within Hauskuk Initiative, along with our local partners HELP Resources, Soroptimist International of Wewak Club and regional partners at the Shifting the Power Coalition, continue to make in the humanitarian space across our country and region. Together, we are working to strengthen the voices and leadership of women, young women, and women and young women with disabilities in humanitarian action. These efforts are vital, as they empower individuals to be agents of change within their communities, fostering resilience and inclusive leadership in times of crisis.
Let us continue to act for humanity, ensuring that every humanitarian worker, most especially women and young women are seen, heard, and empowered in the humanitarian space. Together, we can shape a more just, equitable, and compassionate world.
