TENSION between fans of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates boiled over on Saturday.

Chairs and other objects were seen flying through the air at FNB Stadium in Soweto soon after Chiefs scored the winning goal on penalties.

Soccer supporters got into fights that left a number of people injured.

Some said the trouble was caused by Amakhosi supporters teasing Pirates fans, while others said Bucs followers were sore losers.

One fan was knocked unconscious and paramedics spent a long time trying to resuscitate him. Another man was left with a big wound after he was hit by a chair ripped out of the stands.

Security guards and cops also had a tough time separating groups of fighting fans.

A Chiefs supporter helping an injured man said: “When we lost last Saturday, we didn’t fight but today they’re beating us. This is not fair.”

Last Saturday, Bucs beat Chiefs 3-1 and fans were hoping for another win in the Telkom Knockout semi-final. However, the match ended in a 0-0 draw and Chiefs went on to win 6-5 on penalties.

Amakhosi supporter William Mukwevho said it was disappointing to see people fight at soccer matches. “Beating each other after matches is really not on. The PSL must seat fans separately,” he said.

At the time of going to print yesterday, Chiefs spokesman Vina Maphosa and supporter relations manager Cecil Motaung were not available for comment.

PSL spokesman Luxolo September’s phone rang unanswered.

Lehlohonolo Scott

The lawyer representing double ritual murder suspect, Lehlohonolo Scott, has condemned his client’s 24-hour solitary confinement “without constant breaks enjoyed by other prisoners”.

Scott was extradited from South Africa on
Wednesday last week after his arrest in Durban on 6 April 2014. The 30-year-old had been on the run following his dramatic escape from Maseru Central Prison on 14 October 2012 while he and his mother, ’Malehlohonolo, awaited trial for the alleged murder of fellow Koalabata residents Moholobela Seetsa (13) and Kamohelo Mohata (22).

Seetsa and Mohata were allegedly killed in January and June 2012 respectively, and their mutilated bodies led to suggestions they had been murdered for ritual purposes.

Advocate Thulo Hoeane, who is representing Scott in the trial, yesterday expressed concern at the way his client is being treated at Maseru Central Prison. Scott briefly appeared before the High Court last Wednesday where Justice Teboho Moiloa remanded him in custody until 23 November 2015.

Advocate Hoeane told the Lesotho Times when he visited Scott on Friday last week, he discovered unlike other prisoners, his client was not being allowed out of his cell at all.

“I visited Scott on Friday; I am satisfied with his health condition as his lawyer. However, I am not happy that he is locked-up 24 hours a day in his cell, while the other prisoners at the same facility are being periodically released just to chat with each other and breathe fresh air.
“I know my client is being kept under heavy security to prevent him from escaping again and I don’t have a problem with that.

“There is a newly-built block at the prison, where I discovered that Scott, Ntsokotsane Majalle (suspect in the killing of two nurses last year) and foreign mercenaries who were convicted for attacking State House in 2009, are being kept,” Advocate Hoeane explained.

“But all these other prisoners are allowed to go out of their cells and talk to each other and also have some fresh air. This is not the case with my client, and I cannot be happy about that as his lawyer.”

Advocate Hoeane said he would table his concern before the court when trial resumes on 23 November.
“I have met with the prosecution and we agreed that the trial will resume on 23 November as the judge indicated. They told me they were busy preparing the charge of escape from prison for Scott and that I should allow them time until the set trial date and then raise my concern.”

Asked if he intended to apply for bail for Scott, Advocate Hoeane said he would leave it to his client to decide.

“Chances of his release on bail are very slim considering he has already proved to be a flight risk. However, I will receive all the instructions from him. If he says I should seek bail for him, then I will try. But like I said, chances of success on that are almost zero.”

Asked about ’Malehlohonolo, who was released on bail when Scott was still at large, Advocate Hoeane said she would be before the court when her son makes his appearance next month.
“She is still on bail; nothing has changed concerning her case. Now that the main suspect is here, she will be in court on 23 November,” said Advocate Hoeane.

CONDOMS WELCOME AT SCHOOL!

Parents agree now that pregnancies are out of control

WHEN education officials wanted to give pupils condoms the parents said no!

But they changed their minds when 35 Nomathiya Technical High School girls got pregnant, 17 of them in matric.

The parents in Mtubatuba’s BaSwazini, in northern KZN, said they had tried in vain to keep their daughters from becoming pregnant.

“We called pastors to pray for our children, and organisations came to school for awareness campaigns,” said one parent. “But it didn’t help!”

Local committee member Bhekuyise Shandu (64) said they had held all sorts of meetings to find a solution.

“This is tragic,” said Shandu. “At first I didn’t agree with condoms at school – but now I surrender.

“I realise we need them. We want to see if they bring a solution,” said Shandu.

School governing body chairman Jabu Ngubane (55) said pupils were having s*x at the school.

“If one gets pregnant, others get jealous and fall pregnant too.

“It’s very embarrassing. But we are without ideas now. That is why we want to try condoms,” said Jabu.

KZN Education spokesman Muzi Mahlambi said that officials would meet parents, but pregnant pupils had to write their exams.

“The chief invigilators must know how many months a pregnant pupil is and ask a nurse to be on standby at the school during exams.

“Those who are heavily pregnant must have transport on standby,” he said.

JUB JUB RELEASED ON PAROLE AND YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHY

Here is yet another example of South African justice system epic fail. Just a few days after Oscar Pistorius was freed after staying in jail for less than a year for killing his girlfriend Jub Jub and his team of talented lawyers decided to capitalize on the Oscar Pistorius situation by approaching the supreme court of appeal to question the theory surrounding the release of Mr Pistorius.

Apparently Jub Jub’s lawyers found a loop hole that would wreck havoc in the South African jurisdiction and for them to let it slide they only asked for their client to be released on parole with immediate effect. Jub Jub is now out of jail and would be subject to house arrest for the remainder of his sentence.

Close sources say he have already link up with Kelly and making new music in a makeshift studio in his mom’s house.

"I would be uploading my gospel raps I wrote in jail via datafilehost for my broke fans and hope to collab with AKA and that guy who want to fill the dome…whats his name??? Chester Ngobese or what, The one with a pony tail. " Said Jub Jub

Pirates Still Want Meyiwa's Killers Caught

It's been exactly a year since Senzo Meyiwa was taken away from the world, and no arrests have been made as yet. As such, the club has asked: "Where is the justice?"

The shot-stopper was in the prime of his career. Having eventually taken over the No. 1 jersey from Moeneeb Josephs, the 30-year-old had an influential role in taking Pirates to numerous cup finals, including in the CAF Champions League.

He had also started to feature more regularly for Bafana Bafana, keeping numerous clean sheets for his nation and earning himself "legendary" status for both club and country.

A year on, and the Ghosts still mourn his heartless murder... Pirates have never fully recovered from the loss of one of their most-loved players, and the hurt is evident in the message the club posted on Facebook on Monday morning.

It read: "One year on from the fatal night on which Senzo Meyiwa was murdered and there is still no news about those responsible for this senseless and cowardly act. We appeal to anyone with news pertaining to the murder of Senzo Meyiwa to come forward and notify the authorities. "
