Universal Music South Africa is excited to reveal that it has signed Chereh Sputswe and Thope Tse Khang. This marks a milestone as Universal becomes the first global label to represent FAMO, a genre of Sesotho Traditional Music. Similar to Maskandi, Famo enjoys a significant fanbase in South Africa.

This traditional musical style is deeply embedded in Sesotho heritage, emerging from Lesotho and various regions of South Africa. Famo music is distinguished by its lively and rhythmic accordion tunes, dynamic drumming, and lyrical poetry. It is typically linked to storytelling, social reflections, and the celebration of everyday life among the Basotho community.
