LESOTHO IS BASUTOLAND – UN DOCUMENT PROOF

To everyone asking why we say "Basutoland is Lesotho" or why Basotho people speak about reclaiming Basutoland, here is your official proof – directly from the United Nations.

🔗 This 1969 UN document (Economic and Social Council) clearly states:

“Lesotho (formerly Basutoland) gained its independence on 4 October 1966…”

BASUTOLAND IS LESOTHO 🇱🇸

When we speak of Basutoland, we are speaking about Lesotho — our beautiful nation, our people, our history.

Basutoland was the name used during British colonial rule. But on 4 October 1966, our nation was reborn as The Kingdom of Lesotho — a free and sovereign state of the Basotho people.

👉 The name changed, but the land and the people remained.
Basutoland is not a different country — it is the historical name of Lesotho.
We, the Basotho, carried our identity forward with pride.

Let us learn, teach, and remember where we come from. Our journey from Basutoland to Lesotho is the story of our independence, our resilience, and our unity.
