𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐟: 𝐓𝐚𝐱𝐢 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐞

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has announced an adjustment to taxi fares, with the new prices set to take effect from Monday, May 11.

Among the affected routes is the Mazenod corridor, a key transport link serving commuters between Mazenod and surrounding areas. The fare revision is expected to impact daily travel costs for workers, students, and businesses relying on public transport along this route.

The ministry stated that the adjustments are part of ongoing efforts to respond to rising operational costs within the transport sector, including fuel prices and vehicle maintenance expenses.

Commuters are advised to take note of the new fares and plan their travel budgets accordingly as the changes come into effect.

Mazenod Community News is seeking dynamic and motivated Sales Consultants to join our growing team. If you have a passion for sales, a persuasive personality, and want to contribute to the growth of a vibrant community media platform, we want to hear from you!

𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰:
Sales Consultants will be responsible for securing advertising deals for Mazenod Community News across our platforms (online, and social media). This role is ideal for energetic self-starters who are confident in reaching out to businesses and organisations.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:
-Identify potential advertisers and sponsors within Mazenod and surrounding communities.

-Build and maintain relationships with clients.

-Present and promote advertising opportunities offered by Mazenod Community News.

-Negotiate advertising packages to meet client needs.

-Meet or exceed monthly sales targets.

-Provide feedback on client needs and market trends to the newsroom team.

𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
-Strong understanding of sales techniques and principles.

-Persuasive communication and negotiation skills.

-Self-driven, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.

-Knowledge of Mazenod and surrounding areas is an advantage.

-Ability to build relationships and close deals.

-Highest education certificate achieved must be mentioned in the application.

-Applicants must indicate their current place of residence.

This is a commission-based opportunity. Earnings are based on the value of advertising space sold — the more you sell, the more you earn!

Hybrid – consultants will mainly work independently but may be required to attend occasional in-person meetings or events.

Mazenod Community News is expanding its newsroom team and invites applications for the role of News Correspondents. We are looking for skilled writers who are passionate about news and have a keen eye for identifying newsworthy stories.

𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
-Ability to write news reports in English and/or Sesotho. Applicants must clearly state which language is their strongest.

-Strong writing skills and a passion for journalism.

-Knowledge of Mazenod and surrounding areas is an advantage.

-Highest education certificate achieved must be stated in the application.

-Applicants must indicate their current place of residence.

As a low-budget community media house, correspondents will be paid for stories published only.
