🇺🇸 It was a real blast to participate in this year’s Global Game Jam. Such creative energy brings out the best games.
Our newborn is called Midsommar — a deduction and memory game about medieval families trying to forge alliances through marriages at a festival, and sometimes getting stabbed in the process.

We’re very happy with the result, and maybe one day it will become a full title.

🇱🇹 Buvo tikras malonumas dalyvauti šių metų „Global Game Jam“. Tokia kūrybinė energija padeda gimti geriausiems žaidimams.
Mūsų naujagimis vadinasi Joninės — dedukcinis ir atminties žaidimas apie viduramžių šeimas, bandančias per šventę kurti sąjungas per santuokas, o kartais ir gauti dūrį į nugarą.

Labai džiaugiamės rezultatu ir galbūt vieną dieną tai taps pilnaverčiu žaidimu.

🇱🇹 Paskutinė šių metų naujiena – stalo žaidimas „Snake Clash“, kuriame ikoniškas gyvatėlės žaidimas atgimsta ant stalo. Tai šiek tiek abstraktus, bet įtemptas karo žaidimas, kuriame taktika susitinka su išgyvenimo instinktais. Actekiškas vizualinis stilius buvo pasirinktas siekiant dar labiau sustiprinti žaidimo taktiliškumą ir atmosferą. Žaidėjai, tarsi senovės žyniai, stumdo ir valdo magiškąsias gyvates, semiasi artefaktų galios ir kaunasi dėl išlikimo. Išmokę pagrindines taisykles, jie atranda 14 asimetrinių gyvačių galių, kurios kiekvieną partiją paverčia vis nauju išbandymu. „Snake Clash“ – greitas, taktiškas, nenuspėjamas ir itin interaktyvus žaidimas, nepaliekantis vietos pasyvumui.

Žaidimo mechanikas sukūrė Tomas Miliauskas, o pasakiškai iliustravo Sandra Jančiukaitė.

🇺🇸 Our final release this year is the new board game Snake Clash, where the iconic Snake game is reborn on the tabletop. It is a slightly abstract yet tense war game in which tactics meet survival instincts. The Aztec-inspired visual style was chosen to further enhance the game’s tactile feel and immersive atmosphere. Players, like ancient priests, push and command magical snakes, draw power from artifacts, and battle for survival. After mastering the core rules, players may try 14 asymmetric snake abilities that turn every match into a fresh challenge. Snake Clash is fast-paced, tactical, unpredictable, and highly interactive—leaving no room for passive play.

The game mechanics were designed by Tomas Miliauskas, and the artwork was beautifully illustrated by Sandra Jančiukaitė.

🇱🇹 Šeštadienį dalyvavome jaukiame Lietuvos žaidimų kūrėjų asociacija organizuotame „Ateik ir Žaisk“ renginyje. Pristatėme naujieną – „Fish ’em Up“, o taip pat pažaidėme ir klasiką tapusį Marijampolės žaidimą. Ačiū organizatoriams ir dalyviams už šiltą ir smagiai praleistą laiką!

🇺🇸 On Saturday, we took part in the cozy “Come and Play” event organized by Lietuvos žaidimų kūrėjų asociacija. We presented our new game – Fish ’em Up – and also played the Marijampolė game, which has become a true classic. Thank you to the organizers and participants for the warm and enjoyable time!

🇱🇹 Džiaugiamės galėdami pasidalinti naujiena – stalo žaidimu „Fish ‘em Up“. Žaidimas, gimęs per Global Game Jam, nuo pat ankstyvųjų etapų rodė didelį potencialą, dėl ko nusprendėme jį išleisti.

Žaidėjai įkūnys grupelę žvejų, siekiančių drauge pagauti kuo daugiau žuvų, tačiau rami žvejyba greitai pavirs varžybomis dėl didesnio laimikio. Tai chaotiškas, linksmas, lengvai išmokstamas žaidimas kompaktiškoje pakuotėje.

🇺🇸 We are excited to share some news – our new board game “Fish ‘em Up”! Born during the Global Game Jam, the game showed great potential from its earliest stages, which led us to publish it.

Players will take on the roles of a group of fishermen aiming to catch as many fish as possible together, but the calm fishing quickly turns into a competition for the biggest haul. It’s a chaotic, fun, and easy-to-learn smallbox game.

This year’s Essen Spiel was a blast! We made some great connections, caught up with old friends, bought some fantastic games and of course - played a lot of them. From the good to the bad and even the ugly.

Baltic Boar is also excited to announce that a few new titles will be hitting stores very soon - so stay tuned!

Two big events happened in the last days.

The first was the Prototype Camp in Lithuania. A whole weekend spent in the small paradise of Kintai, testing and breaking games created by designers from Vilnius, Kaunas, and Klaipėda. We even had a chef who cooked us some spicy food, and some friendly dogs that kept us company.

The second event was the demoing of student made games at ISM University of Management and Economics focusing on some serious topics. In one of the games I took part in controlling a populist political party, which not ended in our interests...

Both events were full of great discussions about the growing board game culture in Lithuania, and we’re so happy to be a part of it.

Another amazing Pinecon event has come and gone! Our upcoming title Dream City won the award for Best Prototype. We reconnected with old friends, made new ones, ran playtests - and even found time to party. 😉 Huge thanks to all participants (especially our guests from Poland and Latvia). See you next year!
