Some things are hard to explain 😄 like why a cold pink soup brings so much joy? But standing in the middle of the Šaltibarščiai Festival, surrounded by pink colours and smiles. I realized it’s not really about the soup. It’s about people coming together, about celebrating something that feels unique. 💕

It’s been a long time since I last visited Tauragė, and I was truly surprised by how much has changed. A new tower, hotel renovation, and colorful street art gave the town a fresh and lively feel.

This trip brought some great news too – I passed my Lithuanian language exam here! 🇱🇹✨ A small but meaningful step in this journey. Thank you, Tauragė.

That’s crazy! The top of Gediminas Castle is filled with pink soup, aka šaltibarščiai! 🍲 Yes, you read that right—the iconic tower, which has stood as a symbol of Vilnius for centuries, is now topped with cold beetroot soup!

We don’t know how long this will stay, so if you’re in Vilnius, be sure to check it out before it’s cleaned up. Whether you’re visiting for the view, the history, or just a good laugh, this is definitely a sight you won’t want to miss.

🥔 And if you plan to visit, don’t forget to bring your own potatoes to complete the experience and enjoy 1st of April! 😄

I was not born in Lithuania. I did not grow up hearing the stories of past in Lithuania. But today, I stand here, in this country that I now call home, and I feel something deep inside—respect, admiration, and gratitude.

On this day in 1918, Lithuania made a choice. A choice to exist. To be free. To reclaim its voice in a world that had tried to silence it. A handful of brave people signed a document, and with that, they changed the course of history.

For many Lithuanians, this is more than just a historical date. It is a reminder that freedom is never given; it is fought for. That identity is something to be proud of. That even after years of oppression, resilience can bring a nation back to life.

As a foreigner, I feel lucky to witness this pride. It reminds me that freedom is fragile and precious. So today, I don’t just observe—I celebrate with you. I honor the past, I admire the present, and I believe in the future of this beautiful country.
