Since 1993 this small enthusiastic gathering developed into a solid organisation that aims to support Baltic post-folk music, organises events and promotes modern vitalising outlook on the ethnic heritage. Dangus’ activities are centered around the unique Baltic heritage, that is the main inspirational source for many talented artists on the label. The label’s catalogue counts almost 90 releases,
including well-known Lithuanian groups – Atalyja, Kūlgrinda, Donis, Pievos, Siela, Trys Keturiose, Ugniavijas, Romowe Rikoito, as well as some artists from the other Baltic areas. Dangus aims to present the most original Lithuanian (alter)native music. The releases differ in their style – folk and post-folk, rock, electronic, avant-garde and other music that is close to the ancient Baltic traditions or reflects them in talented artistry. Dangus has an ethno craft and record shop “Ragainė” in Vilnius oldtown, runs a mailorder and organises various music events in Lithuania. The biggest and most known Dangus event is the open-air festival “Mėnuo Juodaragis”, taking place every year in beautiful nature on the last weekend of Summer.
