Sweet Newton, our wheelie warrior, is scheduled for his life-saving surgery one week from today. We have raised $1945 so far. We are so grateful to all of you who have donated so far, who have shared our plea, and who are praying for him and keeping him in your hearts. Every $1 you donate gets us closer to our goal of $4000.00. As we have mentioned before, the clinic that is doing the surgery does not take donations by phone, so our only option is to make donations directly to us.

Dr Stanely Kim with Animal Orthopaedic Clinic of Florida will be doing his surgery. We have full confidence in his ability to get Newton on his way to living the rest of his life happy and pain-free.
In December of 2021, I received a call that would quietly change everything. A veterinary technician from a clinic we had worked with before reached out about a four-month-old puppy named Newton. He had been brought in to be euthanized after suffering a severe spinal injury at T9. The prognosis was heartbreaking: he could no longer walk on his own, and his future seemed painfully limited. He was just a baby, yet already facing the end of his life.
I couldn’t stop thinking about him. Instead of saying goodbye, I said yes. Yes to giving him a chance. Yes to bringing him home. And from that moment on, everything changed.
Newton became part of our family, and in the process, over the past four years, he changed us. We learned how to adapt, how to meet his needs, and how to show up for him every single day. He taught us patience, courage, and the purest form of unconditional love. We didn’t just save Newton—he saved a piece of us.
A German Shorthaired Pointer with an unbreakable spirit, he refused to let his body define his joy. With the help of his wheelchair, he learned to fly down Florida trails, wrestle with his dog friends, chase adventures, and show everyone he meets what true resilience looks like. We’ve watched him face every challenge with determination, happiness, and a tail that never stops wagging. He has been an amazing “big brother” to the new intakes in the rescue and they often find comfort snuggled up next to him during afternoon naps.
Now, it’s our turn to show up for him again.
Newton has already had one rear leg amputated, but now, due to ongoing infections/complications (he “blew out his hock”), the other leg needs amputation to improve his comfort, health, and long-term quality of life. The surgery costs $4,000, and we can’t do it without the support of our community.
Newton has already beaten the odds. He’s touched hearts both online and in real life simply by choosing joy every single day. This surgery will give him the chance to keep doing what he loves most— exploring, playing, loving, and living life to the fullest.
