George Foreman possessed some of the most devastating punching power in boxing history. Renowned as an all-time great knockout artist, his blows were often described as feeling like being hit by a cement truck or a railroad tie, boasting an 89% career knockout rate with 68 knockouts in 76 professional wins.

Foreman did not just win fights; he physically broke his opponents down. His punches were famously heavy and thudding, known to lift opponents off their feet or send them flying across the ring.

At 6’4” and routinely weighing over 220lbs, Foreman leveraged his massive size. He could generate fight-ending power even from close range or with seemingly unorthodox “arm punches”.

Unlike many punchers who rely heavily on one dominant hand, Foreman had debilitating power in both hands, allowing him to throw crushing hooks, straight rights, and devastating uppercuts.

Even in his second career as an older fighter, his raw strength remained intact. At age 45, he won the Heavyweight Championship by knocking out Michael Moorer with a single, short, seemingly effortless straight right hand in the 10th round.

Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield fought two historic, undisputed heavyweight championship bouts in 1999. The first fight ended in a highly controversial draw, while the second ended in a unanimous decision victory for Lewis.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁:
Lewis controlled much of the bout using his jab and reach, landing significantly more punches than Holyfield. However, Holyfield rallied in the later rounds and fought aggressively on the inside.
The fight shockingly ended in a split draw. The decision was met with massive public outcry, widely considered one of the worst and most controversial scorecards in boxing history.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵:
The second fight was much closer, with both fighters trading heavy blows and Holyfield adapting his tactics to pressure Lewis. Lewis continued to rely on his stiff jab and effective combinations.
Lewis won the rematch by unanimous decision, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion in nearly seven years.
