β€œSolo female travel looks glamorous online. This is the reality.”

Christmas Day driving up the Tiz n Tichka pass!

I’m not a fan of heights and especially not with my lorry but the only way down south was going over the High Atlas and I must say I was nervous!
It had rained all night and visibility was terrible! We set off early and it was clear that it wouldn’t be an easy drive!
Torrential rains and debris on the road plus the tourist vans overtaking us at any opportunity!
Rain turned into sleet and snow ❄️
Visibility got worth and it was probably to my advantage as I couldn’t see the drop downs πŸ˜†
The pass was closed at times and we had to wait…
Eventually we made it to the top after more than 3hours!
We couldn’t park right at the top - too busy!
I’m so proud of my lorry and myself that I drove over 2000m up and she made it πŸ’ͺ🏻
Not bad for being a big old girl of 36!!!
I had mince pies and Riley enjoyed his Fini box and we were thinking of Finnley too.
The drive down was beautiful and the change of scenery is incredible πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ«ΆπŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»
Definitely worth it πŸ’•

πŸ“ Sidi Rahal Morocco πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦

On Christmas Eve we headed out to go over the big pass Tiz n Tichka 2006m!!!
I didn’t do it last time as I’m not good with heights and driving the lorry up the mountains!
This year I thought I’ll do it with Riley! The weather conditions weren’t good as loads of rain and snow higher up but the roads over are big roads so I thought yeah do it!
We left the Ozoud waterfalls and what should be just under 2hrs to the top took more than 6!
I drover over a big dip not seeing it and ripped my cooling pipe off πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
Quick phone call to Ali my mechanic in Aourir and trying to fix it myself- I couldn’t get the screw undone as it has been on there forever!
I’ve hitchhiked to the garage and the guys were amazing. Three Moroccans took me to an actual garage and the mechanic helped me. Cost me about Β£25 and once he was there 30min. Very happy πŸ˜ƒ
He invited us back to meet his family for dinner but Riley didn’t wanna go so we went off on our journey…
As it was about 5pm and we still had an hour to travel before it got dark we soon regretted our decision not to go with him!!!
It started raining and getting dark so I had to find a quick park up for the night and it was rather interesting πŸ˜‚
See you next time πŸ«ΆπŸ»πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦πŸ«ΆπŸ»

Sunday 4th January 2026

Riley flew back to the UK πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§
The world is going crazy!
It’s my birthday in 7days and this year I will be focusing more on my own growth:

Theme: Freedom, resilience, unconventional living, solo female travel
Energy: Calm & confidence Β· honesty Β· quiet strength

What living in a converted horsebox actually looks like vs social media:
Daily routines on the road
Breakdowns, repairs, delays
Cost of living vs renting
Border crossings & logistics
Things no one tells you about travelling alone as a woman
Safety vs fear
Morocco as a solo female
Being the only woman in male spaces
Trusting intuition

My most important mission: THE DOGS

My dog’s personality
Rescue stories
Before/after moments
Returning to check on dogs
Why animals change travel

I also will be covering:

Loneliness
Fear vs freedom
Choosing uncertainty
Starting over later in life
Grief, hope, doubt, courage

β€œDoes this resonate?”
β€œHave you ever wanted to start over?”
β€œTell me I’m not the only one.”

Then please stay tuned, like, follow and share

This is my journey and nobody said it will be an easy one. I’m happy to share and show you that you can do it to 🫢🏻✨🌟🫢🏻

Have a fantastic Sunday 🐾 🐾

πŸ“ Ozoud Waterfalls, Morocco πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦

Our next adventures took us to the Ozoud Waterfalls north of Marrakesh

It was a beautiful drive, roads where easy and we saw the snow covered mountains.
We parked up at one of the parking lots 50dh for the night.
We did go the wrong way - not down the stairs but not intentionally!
There are several different routes and one takes you to the caves - we found out after we got back!
The weather was ok and we went for a nice hike.
The way there was ok but walking back up I was absolutely exhausted and sweating!
We made it to the waterfalls and as it was quite late it was literally just us.
Only a few monkeys were still out as it was getting cold.
So we decided we go back in the morning. I left Sandy in the truck as it was raining a lot and plans were just to go down quickly to see the monkeys… but no monkeys 😩
So we did another hike - the small one but enough for me to be huffing and puffing πŸ˜†
We got soaked and so were the monkeys! Cheeky sods they are!
If you do decide to go: take your own nuts and the guys on the top want to get paid for the work the monkeys do… πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”
Unfortunately, it rained a lot!
Back at the lorry we got ready for our drive over the Tiz n Tichka pass - so stay tuned πŸ˜πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦πŸ˜

πŸ“ Marrakesh Morroco πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦

I enjoyed our drive up here - no toll roads, stopped off at Chichaua and bumped into our Australian friends, had a nice breakfast before heading to the craziness of Marrakesh.
Oh I forgot I got stopped by the police for speeding and yes I was as surprised 😲 but he let me off and waved the fine & ticket!
Told you I’m a lifestyle storyteller πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

2 nights in Marrakesh are enough! We walked around, saw loads, ate loads and as the football was on it was way too busy for me!
But it’s one of those: βœ… done and off we go heading up to Ozoud Waterfalls.

Marrakesh is crazy, very busy, loads of tourists traps - go and see it but don’t forget Morocco is so much more than Marrakesh.

πŸ“ Aourir Morocco πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦

I love πŸ’• spending times with this bunch of furries and I wished I could keep them all somewhere safe!
They all have their own sad story but nevertheless they are still giving so much unconditional love it’s unreal!
New to the tagged pack is our little skinny one and he was so brave! I’m glad I was able to help him but only with your support!
Many thanks for donating and I know it’s tough for many of us but anything will make a big difference here!
There’s another little one and she needs a tag too so please πŸ™ if you can follow my link in my bio and give her a chance πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ’•

I’ll be back in a few days at Aourir and can’t wait to see them all πŸΎπŸ’•πŸΎ

Until then Happy Winter Solstice β„οΈπŸ’•β„οΈ and many thanks πŸ™

πŸ“ Essaouira Morocco πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦

I’m a bit behind on my posts…

I had some devastating news from back home and trying to come to terms with it!!!
It’s hard being here but I’ve picked my son up and I’m keeping busy!

Essaouira was one of my favourite places last year and a must visit! I loved the medina and all the sleeping cats - they look so peaceful but be warned as Sandy experienced…
As with everything else here at the moment loads of changes…
Gosh, I hate football with a passion!!!!
After spending the day walking through the medina with my travel companion, we headed a bit further down south to Sidi Kauoki!
No overnight parking in Essaouira 😒😣😭😒
Again, I loved Sidi Kauoki last year too auch amazing vibe but bit different this year.
I’ve met up with some friends and after two nights I went off on my own. Left my travel companion be πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£
An my way to Aourir where I’ve spent a week with the dogs on the beach and it was much needed 🐾😍🐾

πŸ“ Aourir, Agadir, Morocco πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦
I’ve arrived yesterday and what a beautiful surprise 🐾😍🐾

I’m not great at amazing videos or all the social media things…
I’m a storyteller and this is my life story and I’m sharing with you my journey and yes there is another side to Morocco πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦ and as much as I love it here I’ve struggled because of the dog situation here… but this is really a beautiful story please watch to the end πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™
Thank you to everyone who has donated and you can see your money goes directly to these fur babies 🐾🐾
If you would like to support me - the link is in my bio πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ™πŸ™ŒπŸ»

This has to be my favourite park up on this trip so far! πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ˜

Absolutely loved it there
Total peace, just us and waking up to such amazing view can’t get enough of it!
Just north of Essaouira
Tiny fishermen village that’s it
It’s off the main road but easy access πŸ‘πŸ»
If you go there please feed that lovely dog - she wanted loads of cuddles too 🐾 🐾
I could have stayed longer as it was such so tranquil there πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦πŸŒžπŸ‡²πŸ‡¦
